🔷 Congratulations to Forget Me Not Grief Center of Alaska for being selected tonight as our Summer 2026 nonprofit recipient! 🔷

Forget Me Not Grief Center of Alaska provides grief support and healing resources for children, teens, adults, and families navigating loss. Our donation will go to fund two years of grief support for many children who have lost someone close to them.

We also heard from the other two randomly drawn nonprofits— Hope Community Resources, Inc. and Standing Together Against R**e (STAR) - also both critical organizations supporting our community.

We had a special update from last quarter’s recipient, Anchorage Cops for Community about how our donation is supporting the upcoming Saturday August 1st Clothesline Project that provides clothing and services for children preparing for the school year.

The Committee sponsored the appetizers and we loved doing so! Big thank-you’s also to the The Lakefront Anchorage for being a venue co-sponsor, and to Rachel Bunnell/Baird Financial for being our 2025 AND 2026 venue co-sponsor. We also want to thank Assets Printing for printing our "big" checks, and to Carla Wight, Laile Fairbairn, Julie Vincek, for the wonderful door prizes. Because of all of you, 100% of our chapter donations go directly to our non-profits! We appreciate you so much!

Thank you to each of you, dear members, for being a part of our giving circle, because of you we make a difference and help Anchorage in a very meaningful way.

For those of you who still need to donate, you can use Grapevine for autopay or send a check made out to:

From the last video I said I would post a picture of myself. Later that day went and got my beastie and we took a little drive . Ended my day watching the sun go down. Has been a very emotional day lots of highs and lows in my day. This is part of the grieving process.

One of our board members was interviewed by ADN on this issue of honoring those deceased for graduation. FMNGCA mission is by supporting those grieving a death especially children and teens we are building a healthier community. When peers come together and support one another this is part of the healing process. When we remember them and say their name we are honoring not only them but their families. This is such a huge step forward in recognition of how important it is to validate the loss and recognize the impact it can have within the community.

The policy would take effect for next year’s graduating class.

Grief is individual journey and I hear this from people a lot. Those people who tell you to move on it’s not about that at all. You learn to navigate through this unforeseen terrain. There is no Time Limit!!

There’s nothing wrong you , you’re not sick or broken ! Grief is a human experience that has no time limit we all will experience it at some point in Life.

To continue their legacy even in their absence this is your way of continuing to love them.❤️❤️
