The Alaska Rainbow Elders were the Grand Marshall’s of the 2026 Anchorage Pride Parade. See us with our float and walkers with our WALKERS in the last minute of this 4 minute video. While it was a rainy day it did not dampen our enthusiasm.

Each year in June ARE has a Pride Memorial Service. This year it was Sunday June 21, 2026, at the NE corner of the Anchorage Memorial Cemetery. We remember our dear ones, cherished friends and family members and recount the stories of Anchorage’s past through the lens of those LGBTQ+ community members who made history, sometimes by causing “good trouble”.

On April 4, 2026 Alaska Rainbow Elders held an Eat and Meet. Altogether 40 attended this event at the beautiful Gather facilities. Included were members of UAA Pride Center, the Gender Expansive Community of Alaska, as well as other nonbinary, gender q***r and allies of the LGBTQ+ community of Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley, of course many Alaska Rainbow Elders. The event was at the beautiful Gather facilities. Ages from 20s to 90s! It was a great time, lively conversation, everyone was interested in everyone else. The food catered by Peppercini's was fabulous. We had a wonderful welcome speech by Merrick the owner of Gather, and ARE’s Gayle led fantastic mixing activities. An overall welcoming and comforting event!
