ASHRAE Alaska Chapter would like to express our heartfelt condolence to all the families of the Bering Air flight 445 crew and passengers that were lost in the crash near Nome, Alaska on February 6, 2025.
Among the passengers were two ANTHC utility operators, engineers, friends, family, colleagues, and one of our own ASHRAE Members. Alaska is a large state, but a small community. A reminder that we know each other through one or more people. This tragedy brings to light the dangers that we face in extreme weather and in our professions. Our thoughts go out to all the victim’s families and the responders who braved the elements to complete the recovery.
ASHRAE Alaska Chapter will truly miss JaDee Moncur, a dedicated member of ASHRAE and to his profession. A man who was always willing to help our Chapter with his knowledge and expertise in commissioning and anyone he met.
We would like to share the following message from his employer Lee Holmes, Superior Group, Support Services of Alaska:
It is with broken hearts and true sorrow that we announce the death of the unforgettable JaDee Brent Moncur. He was killed in the crash of flight 445 outside of Nome, Alaska, on February 6, 2025.
JaDee lived his life doing what he loved. Serving, flying, riding, playing, loving, and working hard. Our world is much smaller without him in it.
