🎃 The Great Pumpkin Patch is back at 49th State Brewing!

Starting tomorrow, October 1st, the Downtown Anchorage patio will transform into a pumpkin-filled fall wonderland, complete with pumpkins, seasonal décor, photo opportunities and plenty of autumn vibes. 🍂 The Pumpkin Patch will be open throughout the month of October, giving you plenty of time to stop by!

Then, mark your calendar for the Pumpkin Patch Party on Saturday, October 24th! Bring the family downtown for an afternoon of Halloween fun with a petting zoo, handmade and local vendors, kids’ arts & crafts, family games and more. 👻

🛍️ Shop local and discover something uniquely Alaskan!

The Make It Alaskan Market returns to the Egan Center this weekend, October 2–4 with a huge lineup of Alaska makers, artists and small businesses offering everything from jewelry and home décor to art, gifts, treats and more. ✨

Kick off the weekend Friday evening with the 21+ Sip & Shop, then spend Saturday and Sunday browsing locally made goods, grabbing a bite from food trucks on 5th Avenue and supporting Alaskan creators. Sunday will also feature Junior Creators, highlighting young makers under 18.

Visit Anchorage’s 2026 Winter Tourism Showcase is happening Thursday, October 8th at the Egan Center, bringing together more than 20 Anchorage businesses to share what’s new for the season, from winter activities and attractions to local amenities and resources.

🎉 79 years of outfitting Alaska!

Big Ray's has been part of Alaska since 1947, when WWII veterans Glenn Miller and Howard Cruver opened what was then known as the Army Navy Store in downtown Anchorage and Fairbanks. What began with military surplus cold-weather gear grew alongside Alaska itself, outfitting generations of Alaskans for work, winter and adventure.

Now, Big Ray’s is celebrating 79 years with their Anniversary Sale, happening October 1st - 11th! 👏🏼

Stewart's Photo is offering a five-session Photography Class for Beginners this fall, designed to help you build confidence behind the lens while learning both the creative and technical sides of photography.

You’ll learn everything from composition and lighting to shutter speed, aperture, ISO and more. No advanced experience required!

🦆 The Great Alaska Duck Race is back at Ship Creek this Saturday!

Thousands of rubber ducks will race down Ship Creek, all while raising money for Alaska nonprofits and youth programs. There’s still time to get your duck in the race and support a great cause! 💛

Every ticket purchased supports participating organizations, and your duck could also be the lucky one to cross the finish line first and take home the $10,000 grand prize!

Buy a duck, support local nonprofits, then head Downtown Saturday to watch the race in person. 🏁

🚂 All aboard for some spooky season fun! 👻

The Alaska Railroad Kid’s Halloween Train is pulling back into the Downtown Anchorage Depot on Saturday, October 24th.

🧙🏻‍♂️ Little ghosts, goblins, witches and wizards (and their grown-ups!) are encouraged to come in costume for a 2.5-hour ride filled with crafts, coloring, balloon animals, treats, a magician and more. 🪄

🎟️ Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, September 16th at 9AM. These tickets tend to disappear faster than a ghost, so don’t wait! 😉
