Did you know that research shows that the biggest predictor of reading scores is the number of books in the home? But access to high-quality, age-appropriate children’s books is a luxury thousands of our kids don’t have. At Storybridge, we feel called to help change the story for our children by improving book access. Storybridge collects, purchases, sorts, and distributes new and gently used chil

dren's books to children and families. We deliver over 5,000 books every month directly to children in the Amarillo and Canyon communities through 4 main programs:
• Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
• Free Book Fairs at 20 local schools
• Born to Read 806
• Little Free Library network

Breaking News!! … Liam and Finn were 👀 SPOTTED READING 👀 waiting at a local diner! 📚🍔✨

Liam is reading 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙋𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚 and Finn is reading 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙄𝙫𝙖𝙣. Great choices guys!! 🏴‍☠️ 🦍 (Liam sent in a closeup of his book and highly recommends it for others who love a Japanese manga series!)

Mom told our Reading Scout these brothers are excited to be featured on Facebook, so we won’t make them wait any longer! Let’s hear it for Liam and Finn and the example they are setting for other kids!! 😁👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Last summer I was leaving a meeting at Starbucks when I noticed a little girl completely absorbed in a book. ❤️

A real book! In the wild! 🤩

As I visited with her mom (who was also reading), I remember thinking: What if this didn’t feel so rare anymore? What if kids saw more kids reading books out in the real world?

That moment helped spark an idea we’ve been dreaming about ever since…

📚 𝙎𝙋𝙊𝙏𝙏𝙀𝘿 𝙍𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙂 📚

Beginning this week, Storybridge Reading Scouts have been on the lookout for kids reading books out in the world — at restaurants, waiting rooms, parks, ballgames, grocery stores, wherever! We have five winners already!! 🎉

Kids who are “spotted reading” may receive:
⭐ an “I Was Spotted Reading” button
⭐ a free book from Burrowing Owl Books
⭐ a free kids meal from Jason’s Deli in Wolflin
⭐ a social media shoutout

If you’re following our page, chances are really good you KNOW reading matters. What we need is to make reading feel normal. Visible. Celebrated.

So here’s your assignment, Amarillo:
✔️ Remind your kids to BRING THEIR BOOK(S) when you go out
✔️ Encourage any kids you see reading (we won’t be able to find them all so we need your help celebrating them!)
✔️ Let them spot you reading, too 😉

SUMMER STORYTIME KICKOFF IS ALMOST HERE… ☀️📚⏰

Another amazing year of Kinderbridge is in the books!! Sara and Jennifer served 162 individual kids under five this year, truly impacting the rest of their lives - investing wisdom and care and creating a safe and rewarding community for their parents. 💗

📚✨ Storytime Book Lineup ✨📚

We’re excited to share this season’s Storytime book lineup! We’ve worked to solve the hearing issues from past events so everyone can better enjoy the stories together. With our growing crowd, though, it can still be a little hard to see the pages during reading time. We encourage families to bring their own copy of the book if possible!

Many of these titles may already be in your home library through our Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program, can be checked out from your local public library, or picked up at your favorite bookstore. 📖
