Reminder the December Friends of the Alpena FFA/Alpena FFA is tomorrow Tuesday, December 16th at 6:00 pm. We will be discussing the tractor restoration project, fruit sale, and regional leadership contests.

The December Alpena FFA Alumni meeting/Friends of the Alpena FFA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th at 6:00 pm at the AHS Agriscience classroom. All are supporters are welcome to attend.

Alpena FFA is holding its annual fruit and nut sale fundraiser to raise funds to support chapter activities. Chapter members will be selling quality fruit, nuts, and candies. Citrus fruit sold this year include Californian navels, red grapefruit, and clementines. A variety of mixed fruit boxes and gift boxes will be included in the sale. Gift boxes include a variety of fruits and this year a vegetable box will be offered. In addition to fruits, nuts and candies will be sold including holiday tins and refills of cashews, mixed nuts, and pistachios. Candies offered include different types of chocolates, gummy bears & worms, taffy, and a combination gift tray. Payment is accepted in cash or checks which should be made payable to Alpena Public Schools. These items make excellent holiday gifts and all proceeds from the fundraiser support local chapter activities. These activities include chapter meetings, community service events, travel and registration costs to leadership contests and state and national convention, and our awards banquet at the end of the school year. This fundraiser is the chapter’s primary source of funds for the year.
Orders must be placed by Friday, November 14th. Orders can be placed by contacting current FFA members or calling or emailing advisor Melissa Smith [email protected]. Fruit will be delivered by members on the week of December 8th, orders can be picked up at Alpena High School on December 10th or 11th. With the challenges many are facing due to ice damage and power outages, the April Friends of the Alpena FFA/ FFA Alumni Meeting is rescheduled for next week Wednesday, April 9th at 5:30 pm.
