Join the TBTA board for their monthly board meeting at ACC every first Thursday of the month. If you are hoping to get more involved with the organization this is the best place to start. All are welcome! Tomorrow in room 104 in the CTR building starting at 6pm.

Our next monthly TBTA Board meeting is this Thursday, April 2nd at 6PM at Alpena Community College's CTR building, room 104. Members of the public are welcome to attend!

Hello winter trail users! We just were asked by the Alpena Golf Course to share that the course will be closed for winter use for the remainder of the season due to Ice Storm 2026 damage. At this time DNR is assessing Chippewa Hills and Norway. For the time being we will be holding off on any future grooming. Despite the ice storm, it has been a great winter for winter sports and all of your support has made it possible. We will update on this page and on our website if we have more to share!

Updated grooming report from today! And a special shoutout to our local DNR team for removing two large trees that fell along the path at Norway Ridge. Give it a read:

Alpena Golf Course has good tracks and firm skate deck. Chippewa Hills has loops A, B, C groomed. Loop D to South parking lot is not groomed due to mechanical issues with groomer. Hoping to get the machine back online before more snow comes. Norway Ridge was groomed on Monday and is in good shape.

Congrats Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher on their silver medal in today's men's sprint! If you haven't watched the race yet, you need to!

U.S. cross-country skiers Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher power to a silver medal in the men's team sprint. U.S. women led by Jessie Diggins finish off the podium.

Got out to the biathlon course this morning, before the rain came through. Ran into our returning biathletes just back from racing at the US Masters Nationals & Ariens Biathlon Festival in Wisconsin! Matt is our biathlon coordinator and John is a Para Olympian with ties to the Alpena area. John calls us up whenever he is in the area to go for a ski with a guide ( the guide provides audio cues for John to navigate the course). Super awesome to see the growth of biathlon in Michigan because of Matt and his team’s efforts in Alpena.

The Alpena Golf Course winter trails were groomed this morning. The trail is groomed for skate and classic skiing. The daytime high temperatures for the next several days will be above freezing.
