Today marks Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a celebration honoring the immense contributions and resilience of Indigenous peoples. This day acknowledges their inherent sovereignty, humanity, and enduring fortitude. America was founded on the promise of equality and opportunity for all — a promise that, despite progress, remains unrealized for Indigenous peoples who have dwelled on this land since long before colonization.
