Earlier this week, Tineke, COSF Operations & Development Specialist and Bob, the Chairman of our Board, attended the National Retired Military Golf Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC. At the event, they offered our thanks to the veterans in attendance and spread the word about our programs that provide military and veteran families in need with critical resources and support.

Bob was even able to coin Dr. Galen Grant, the first female Drill Sergeant of The Year in 1983, and a trailblazer in achieving women's equality in the Army. What a special moment!

We are honored to be part of events like these, which bring together those who served to form meaningful connections and to celebrate their service. ❤️🇺🇸

Picture this: You're let go from your job due to downsizing, and at the same time, find out that your landlord is selling the home you're renting. This is exactly what happened to Daniel, an Air Force veteran who came to for help. All at once, he found himself without a job and would soon be without a home.

This is where action matters. We stepped in to:

🤝 Secure financial assistance, easing the burden of unexpected unemployment, and of having to find a new home on such short notice. This gave him the means to find a new place to rent.
📞 Ensure that Daniel received the benefits he needed, providing him with further stability.
💼 Help Daniel find meaningful employment.

Let's recap. When Daniel came to us, he was without a job, not receiving benefits, and facing housing insecurity. Now, he's in a safe home, accessing the benefits he deserves, and working a job that he enjoys and adds to his quality of life. THIS is the power of wrap-around support. THIS is what we do. ❤️

This Memorial Day, we encourage you to pause and reflect on the cost of freedom, and the thousands of men and women who courageously and willingly paid that cost with their lives. No matter what our country is facing, whether it be division, unrest, or uncertainty, let us remember and be united by this reality. Let it bring us deep gratitude, appreciation, and love for the country we call home.

So, today, we remember our losses and offer our deepest support to those who have lost a loved one in service. We hope you take this day to remember the beautiful lives they led, and please know that we are holding you closely in our hearts.
