Community Partner Shoutout: American Red Cross Military and Veteran Caregiver Network (MVCN) ❤️

At , we serve the entire military and veteran family, and that includes caregivers. That's why we're so grateful to partner with the MVCN to connect our caregiver clients to the support they deserve. The MVCN is a national program that connects caregivers to peer support, one-on-one mentorship, whole health programming, education and training, and more.

Thank you, MVCN for working alongside us to make a difference for caregivers in need. 🙌

: Peer Support. 🫂

The biggest thing we hear veterans say they miss about service is the camaraderie. They spend years training for and executing missions that require high levels of trust in the men and women around them, which leads to friendships and bonds that are unlike any other. Finding that kind of brotherhood or sisterhood after serving can be a challenge, which can negatively impact veterans' mental health.

That's why we connect clients who are looking to find camaraderie to peer support resources. Often, these are groups of veterans who meet regularly to do something they enjoy together, like hiking, biking, fishing, or hunting. Sometimes, it looks like connecting a veteran to a mentor or coach they can meet with one-on-one. Either way, this peer support is incredibly impactful and can make a significant difference in their ability to process their military experiences and build a healthy civilian life, feeling supported and known by those who "get it."

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time set aside to highlight the vital contributions of employees with disabilities and to promote inclusivity in the workplace.

Many service-disabled veterans go on to join the civilian workforce after service, applying the skills and experiences they had while serving in ways that uniquely solve some of the world's biggest challenges across various industries.

For many veterans, especially those with service-connected disabilities, finding the meaningful employment they deserve after service can be a challenge. Today, on Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day, we honor the families who have experienced the profound loss of a loved one in service to the United States Armed Forces.

Their sacrifice extends far beyond the battlefield. They have lost cherished moments, future milestones, and the opportunity to share a lifetime with someone they loved deeply. While we can never fully comprehend the weight of that loss, we can acknowledge it, honor it, and ensure it is never forgotten. The legacy of the service members they lost lives on through the love, memories, and enduring devotion of their families.

We remember the fallen, honor the families they left behind, and extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt condolences to every Gold Star family. We recommit ourselves to standing beside them and to supporting them in every way we can. 💜

We're thrilled to share that Bishop's Events will be hosting their Salute The Troops 5k/10k in Glenn Dale, MD to benefit our mission at for another year. 🇺🇸

: Supporting Military & Veteran Caregivers 🫂

There are an estimated 14.3 million military and veteran caregivers across the United States. Every day, they provide essential support to the veterans they love, managing medical care, assisting with daily activities and mobility, navigating healthcare and benefits, coordinating transportation, overseeing finances, and so much more.

Like those who served in uniform, caregivers often carry the weight of service in ways that go unseen. The physical, emotional, and financial demands of caregiving can be overwhelming, and no one should have to carry that burden alone.

We help caregivers navigate the often-complicated network of services available to the veterans they care for. By taking resource navigation off their plates, we help lighten their load so they can spend less time searching for help, and more time caring for their loved ones and themselves. ❤️

With our mission, anything is possible. For this veteran, it made a way for him to be reunited with his son and to experience a fresh start as they rebuilt their life, together. ❤️

On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave service members who became Prisoners of War or remain Missing in Action.

These courageous men and women answered the call to serve our nation, enduring unimaginable hardship and making profound sacrifices in defense of our freedoms. As we go about our daily lives, may we never forget their service, and may we remain steadfast in our commitment to account for those who have not yet returned.

To the families of those who are or have been POW/MIA, we extend our deepest gratitude, compassion, and support. We recognize that your sacrifice is ongoing, and we honor the strength, hope, and resilience you have shown through years of uncertainty.

As a nation, we owe an incredible debt of gratitude to every service member who was held as a Prisoner of War or remains Missing in Action. Today, and every day, we remember them, honor their sacrifice, and reaffirm our commitment that they will never be forgotten. ❤️
