We want to take a moment to highlight some very important members of the community: Our donors. ❤️

Behind every veteran who finds hope at , every transitioning service member who is equipped with the resources they need, and every caregiver who is empowered to keep going, is a generous donor who chose to say "yes" to our mission.

That mission - to ensure that all military and veteran families have the resources and support they need to thrive - is made stronger by those who choose to stand with us, and we truly could never thank them enough.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about su***de and what puts someone at risk, and to have open, honest conversations about mental health and how it connects to every area of life.

This month hits especially close to home for the military and veteran community. An average of 17.5 veterans die by su***de every day in the United States. The weight of service can be particularly heavy when our nation's heroes are left to navigate it alone. That's why we must come together to rally around service members, veterans, and caregivers, doing everything we can to let them know that their service, experiences, feelings, and most importantly - their lives - are incredibly meaningful and worth fighting for.

How do we do that? By checking in, offering a listening ear, looking out for concerning signs, and stepping in to offer unconditional support. These simple acts, when done with love and intentionality can, over time, make an incredible, life-saving impact.

Take this post as your reminder that we all have a role to play in preventing military and veteran su***de, this and every month. 💜🩵

Hello, September! 🍂

As summer comes to a close, we're filled with gratitude as we reflect on the month of August. With intakes holding steady, we've continued to serve a significant amount of military and veteran families in need month over month. The wrap-around support we provide continues to improve the lives of our nation's heroes, and the financial, benefits, employment, and mental health resources we connect them to are actively empowering them to move forward out of hardship with confidence. 🙌

Thank you to each donor, supporter, and member of our community who makes this mission possible. We are so thankful for every member of the family who contributes to this incredible impact! 💙

Community Partner Shoutout: Hire Heroes USA 💼

As part of our mission to provide wrap-around support to service members, veterans, and caregivers, one of our focus areas is employment. When a client comes to us seeking to find a job, earn more meaningful employment, or translate their military skills and experience to the civilian world, we often connect them to , a fellow non-profit committed to improving the lives of our nation's heroes.

They offer free, one-on-one, personalized support to empower transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses, along with connections to hundreds of training partners, access to a job board, and so much more.

We are so grateful for their partnership and for the opportunities we've had to work together to help those who serve find the meaningful employment they deserve! 🙌

Today is Women's Equality Day, and we're taking a special moment to honor the extraordinary women who serve our military and veteran community, as service members, veterans, caregivers, and military spouses. ❤️

To the women who have fought for equality while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, thank you for your courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our nation. Your service has broken barriers, opened doors, and paved the way for future generations to serve.

To the women who care for, support, and advocate for our nation's heroes as caregivers and military spouses, thank you for the strength, sacrifice, and compassion you show every day. Your love and dedication make a lasting difference, and your example reminds other women walking a similar path that they are not alone, and that they, too, can build lives filled with purpose, hope, and joy, even in the face of the unique challenges military life can bring.

Today, we celebrate these incredible women, their contributions, sacrifices, and the countless ways they make our nation stronger. Happy Women's Equality Day! 🙌

is grateful to Claritev for hosting our Board of Trustees meeting at their headquarters last week. Thank you to Andy, Gagan, Nick, and the other incredible associates who made us feel so welcome.

Our mission is made stronger by partners like , who support our efforts to serve military and veteran families in meaningful ways like this. Thanks to their hospitality, our Board had the opportunity to plan new initiatives and foster meaningful conversations about the ways we plan to serve our nation's heroes in the months to come. We appreciate you, Claritev! 💙

Last week we had the honor of hosting the Code of Support Foundation Board of Trustees meeting at our headquarters.

Code of Support helps service members, veterans, and their families access critical resources, including mental health support and assistance navigating the VA disability claims process.

Our Director of Andy Lounder, and other Claritev associates, Gagan Bali and Nick Patterson, provided a warm welcome, and our thanks extend to the many associates who helped make this possible.

James, a Navy veteran, proudly served his country until a stage four cancer diagnosis led to his medical retirement. The sudden, overwhelming change in circumstances resulted in financial roadblocks for James. He faced a water shutoff and received a shutoff notice for his electricity before coming to where we worked diligently with a community partner to cover the overdue charges and pay out future months' bills.

Now, James can focus solely on his health, treatment, and rest without worrying about his basic needs being met. ❤️

Recently, a Marine veteran came to us in the midst of an extremely challenging season. He had just been laid off from his job, and on top of that, was navigating a difficult divorce while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for his two children.

He secured a new job in medical sales, but the training took longer than he anticipated, and he was not yet receiving a full income. As a result, he fell behind on his car payment and was close to falling behind on rent. He had made incredible progress by finding a new job, but he needed support to close the financial gap he was still facing.

His Community Resource Navigator worked with a community partner at Operation Second Chance, and together, they secured over $3,000 in financial assistance to cover the veteran's overdue car payments and a month of rent to get him curent while he waited for his sales job to officially begin.

Now, the veteran can focus on establishing a new career, spending time with his children, and finding the healing and stability he deserves. 💙

: Mental Health Support. 🫂

For service members, veterans, and caregivers, mental health struggles can present in many different ways. Some struggle with PTSD, anxiety, depression, or anything in between. No matter the specific mental health concern, it can impact many areas of their lives including their employment status, financial situation, family well-being, and more.

That's why, at , we aim to get a complete understanding of our clients' mental health status, so that we can provide them with the resources they need to improve their mental health and create stability within their everyday lives.

For some, that may look like peer support or access to recreational activities. For others, it's counseling or therapy. In every single case, our Case Managers always take time to listen and intentionally engage military and veteran clients who need mental health support. By doing so, we have reduced our clients' risk for su***de, improved their quality of life, and restored hope back into their lives.

Do you need mental health support, or know a veteran, service member, caregiver or military spouse that does? Learn more at codeofsupport.org/get-help. For crisis situations, always dial 988 and press 1. ❤️
