We had our grand opening for Somos this week! 👏🏼

We are so proud to open our mixed-use, mixed-income community featuring one-bedroom apartment homes thoughtfully tailored to provide an exceptional living experience for seniors and residents of all ages who appreciate a diverse and engaging neighborhood.

We are excited to announce our mural artist, Jesse Littlebird, who will be doing our mural at Somos! 🎉

Jesse Littlebird (Laguna/Kewa Pueblos), from Santa Fe, New Mexico, is an artist, painter, writer and film director. Expression through the medium of painting and film is a vital part of life for Jesse, with his Indigenous heritage deeply rooted in the oral tradition culture of his Pueblo Indian lineage and growing up in a creative household of art, film and story.

We are so honored to have his vision and storytelling become part of Somos. Stay tuned for progress! 🎨

In 1993, Sol Housing began as the Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership — a collaboration with the City of Albuquerque to build affordable housing. 🌞

What started as a single project quickly became something more: a deep commitment to the city and the people who call it home.

The original team realized their vision reached beyond that first plan. They built something bigger — intentionally bringing together some of New Mexico’s most talented, like-minded visionaries. People who cared more about giving back than getting a paycheck. People who wanted to make a contribution, and who believed that everyone deserves a home.

Today, Sol Housing’s mission is to create exceptional housing that fosters household stability and vibrant communities. We envision a future where everyone can experience community, connection, and joy in a home of their choice! 🏡

Sol Housing support housing choice, housing options of all type, throughout the city! 🏡

The City of Albuquerque and partners are pleased to invite you to an event to kick off the AARP Design Competition for Age-friendly Cottage Development. This competition challenges design professionals and UNM students to think creatively about how cottage development can be a great infill housing option for neighborhoods in Albuquerque to help people age-in-place while meeting the needs of residents of all ages.

The Kickoff event will explain the need for age-friendly housing solutions and why the City is excited about cottage development as an innovative housing type to meet the needs of residents today and in the future.
