Can people genuinely change—or do they simply become improved versions of who they have always been?

Paul’s life offers a powerful answer. He was a sincere, accomplished, and zealous religious leader—but all his devotion had placed him in opposition to Jesus. Then God revealed his Son, called Paul by grace, and gave his life an entirely new direction.

Paul did not invent the gospel, and Paul did not recreate himself. Both the message and the transformation came from God.

In Part 2 of Nothing to Prove, Pastor Aaron Giesler teaches from Galatians 1:11–24 and shows that the gospel does not merely tell us to try harder. Jesus gives new life. That transformation may be immediate or gradual, but grace gives us a new center, identity, and direction.

The gospel comes from God, and its power comes from God. Christ can save the person we were convinced could never change—even when that person is us.

SCRIPTURE:
Galatians 1:11–24

What is the true gospel, and how can we recognize a distorted one?
In Galatians 1:1–10, Paul warns that adding religious performance to the grace of Jesus does not improve the gospel—it replaces it.

In week one of Nothing to Prove, Pastor Aaron Giesler explains why Jesus is not merely necessary for salvation; Jesus is sufficient. The gospel is the good news that Christ gave himself to rescue us. We do not complete his rescue—we receive it.

Nothing to Prove is a 10-week series through Galatians from Grace Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Grace, not performance, makes us one family.

We've talked about the diagnosis and the theology — now what do we actually do? In the final part of "Not In It To Win It," Pastor Aaron dives into Acts 6, where the early church solved real division with concrete action instead of endless meetings.

This isn't about changing anyone's politics. It's about becoming known for something other than who we've decided not to love.

📖 Scripture: Matthew 5:44-47, Acts 6
