The 35th Annual Music Under the Stars keeps rolling with another fantastic weekend of music at the Albuquerque Museum!

Friday, June 26, Son Habana takes the stage in the Amphitheater. Featuring four accomplished musicians from Cuba, the Los Angeles-based group breathes new life into Son Cubano, the foundation of much of today's Latin music, while incorporating contemporary sounds from across the Latin world. Led by singer-songwriter Luis Felipe, whose international career spans more than two decades, Son Habana delivers an irresistible mix of salsa, timba, bolero, rumba, cha cha cha, bachata, and more.

Then on Saturday, June 27, we move indoors to the Ventana Room for a special tribute to one of jazz's most influential figures. Pianist Bert Dalton leads an all-star quartet featuring Rob "Milo" Jaramillo, John Bartlit, and Dave Anderson in a celebration of the music of Dave Brubeck. From selections off the landmark Time Out album to stories about Brubeck's groundbreaking use of unusual time signatures, this promises to be an engaging and swinging evening of jazz.

It's been an incredible start to the season, and we can't wait to share another weekend of great music with you.

What a kickoff to the summer season and the 35th Annual Music Under the Stars at the Albuquerque Museum!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the amazing, Son Como Son and a swinging evening with the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra and the incredible Hillary Smith.

The summer heat keeps coming this weekend with Nosotros on Friday, June 19, and Evolution of the Blues on Saturday, June 20, featuring Joanie Cere, Michael Matison, and storyteller Linda Piper.

And next week, we launch the 30th Annual Summer Thursday Jazz Nights at the Outpost with David Bethany’s Treeo on June 25!!

The 35th Annual Music Under the Stars kicks off opening weekend at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater!

Friday, June 12 — Son Como Son
One of Albuquerque’s most beloved salsa groups returns to open the Salsa y Más series. Directed by César Bauvallet and founded in 1993, Son Como Son brings their signature Cuban-style salsa and dance energy that has made them a longtime favorite at Music Under the Stars, Summerfest, and beyond.

Saturday, June 13 — Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra Swing Dance featuring Hillary Smith
A Music Under the Stars tradition! The 19-piece Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra, led by Glenn Kostur and featuring vocalist Hillary Smith, brings an evening of big band swing and dancing under the stars.

The 35th Annual Music Under the Stars returns June 12 – August 28 at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater!

Saturdays: Jazz & Blues Under the Stars

Featured artists include Son Como Son, Nosotros, Flor de Toloache, Team Havana, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra, and many more.
