Today, May 30, is the final day of early voting for New Mexico’s 2026 Primary Elections ⚠️

Early voting gives community members additional time and flexibility to participate before Election Day. If you’ve been planning to make your voice heard early, today is the last chance to do so at early voting locations across the state.

Over the past 10 days, community members came together for a hands on journey of learning, building and cultural exchange as we constructed a traditional Adobe Horno! This workshop was guided by community expert Frank Tsosie from Jemez Pueblo!
Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their time and helped bring this project to life. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another and celebrate the knowledge, traditions, and connections that make spaces like these so meaningful! 💚

Welcome Rooted & Restored cohort member, Tatyana Trujillo! 🌳👏

“I am a proud Native New Mexican and Chicana whose family roots run deep in northern New Mexico and are now also firmly rooted in central New Mexico. I carry a deep love for the land and have dedicated much of my life to protecting it by supporting rural communities and advocating for water conservation through acequia culture and responsibilities. Through my work with FoodCorps, I support students and communities through garden-based learning and food education, helping young people connect with the land, understand where food comes from, and build leadership rooted in cultural connection and environmental stewardship.”

We are honored to have Tatyana joining this journey and look forward to learning alongside her throughout the cohort experience.

Welcome Rooted & Restored cohort member, Ruben Gamez! 🌳👏

“I am a science educator, illustrator, and desert wanderer from El Paso, Texas. I’ve been a high school science teacher in the borderlands for the last 6 years, work that has deepened my belief in the power of public lands as learning spaces and strengthened my commitment to helping community youth see the outdoors as a place where they already belong. Outside of work, I enjoy night hiking in the desert, searching for wildlife to photograph, fishing local ponds and parks, and creating educational art inspired by the plants and animals of the Chihuahuan Desert.”

We are honored to have Ruben joining this journey and look forward to learning alongside him throughout the cohort experience.

Welcome Rooted & Restored cohort member, Juan Ramirez Brambila! 🌳 👏

“I am a son, a brother, a tio, a husband, and a father. I am a community builder and educator whose focus is on relationship-building because it allows for authentic spaces for learning, safety, and belonging. My love for creating multi-species relationships was passed down by my ancestors from Ayotitlán Jalisco, Mexico. As a naturalist, I share my deep love for place through birds and plants while continuing to steward inter-generational spaces where people can belong, share stories, and build relationships with each other and the land.”

We are honored to have Juan joining this journey and look forward to learning alongside him throughout the cohort experience.

Welcome Rooted & Restored cohort member, Alejandra Cruz Blanco! 🌳👏

“My name is Alejandra Cruz Blanco, born and raised in Mexico. I am a bilingual trauma-informed yoga instructor, meditation and breathwork practitioner, and immigrant rights advocate committed to making healing accessible across languages and cultures. As someone who understands the immigrant experience firsthand, I create spaces that honor resilience while addressing the impact of stress, displacement, and systemic barriers on the body and mind. I believe that when we regulate our bodies, we strengthen our communities, and that healing and activism can move together.”

We are honored to have Alejandra joining this journey and look forward to learning alongside her throughout the cohort experience.
