Willamette Valley Symphony

Willamette Valley Symphony The Willamette Valley Symphony performs concerts in the region of Albany and Corvallis, Oregon.

Musicians from the Willamette Valley and beyond share their passion for music with the community. The Willamette Valley Symphony, an all-volunteer community orchestra, presents symphonic concerts at an affordable cost for audiences in the Willamette Valley. We present a series of four full orchestra concerts per year in Albany and repeated in Corvallis. WVS makes it possible for families and stude

nts to attend by offering free tickets to youth, ages 0 to 12. We are committed to providing access to all, regardless of economic situation. Our policy states that "no one will be denied access" due to inability to pay.

For our concerts on September 26 & 27, we will be hosting an Environmental Fair one hour before each concert. We are excited to welcome organizations to this event who work hard to educate and promote environmental stewardship. Today's feature group: Mary's River Watershed Council. This year, they are celebrating 30 years of restoration work: over 135,000 plants planted; 33 miles of instream habitat restored; 13 beaver dam analogs installed. 2,000 students reached each year through summer camps and Youth programs. Visit their website to learn more and meet them in person at our concerts at Ashbrook Independent School.

Inspiring & supporting voluntary stewardship of the Marys River watershed through habitat restoration, education, and community outreach.

In 2019, OPB told the story of the Central Oregon Symphony and its effort to bring healing to the community through music, three years after the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

As WVS prepares to perform music inspired by the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, we found this story especially meaningful and wanted to share it. The refuge is a place of extraordinary natural beauty and importance — and it carries a complicated history for many Oregonians. It has been 10 years since the occupation. Malheur again finds itself challenged: this time with wildfires. It is time for music to again bring healing and togetherness to celebrate natural treasure. Join us on September 26 & 27.

The Malheur National Wildlife Refuge became a household name in 2016, not for its beautiful scenery or because 300 bird species flock there, but because a militant, anti-government group had taken over headquarters for 41 days, leading to a fatal shooting. Three years later, an Oregon symphony offer...
