On October 25 We are welcoming Soulforce to a Second Life and real world worship service where faith, creativity, performance, and Q***r community can meet in a space beyond physical borders.

And we can’t wait to see what happens when those worlds come together.

We welcome everyone seeking a spiritual home to our community at First UCC Second Life. As followers of Christ, we believe in God’s open invitation, gracious hospitality and compassionate love regardless of your religious background, your gender identity, your gender preference, your ethnicity, your age or physical/mental abilities, or your economic situation.

A baptism that affirms who you are.

As part of Culto Cuir on Sunday, October 25, Soulforce and First UCC of Second Life will create space to honor the bodies, identities, and spirits of our Q***r and Trans beloveds.

During the liturgy, LGBTQIA+ participants will have an opportunity to receive a baptism that affirm Q***r or Trans identity and receive the blessing of the community.

Rev. Alba Onofrio (aka Reverend S*x *x in Insta), the executive director of Soulforce , is preaching at 1st UCC in Second Life will be preaching a good word: "Who Is The Monster?"

Rev. Alba holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School, where their studies focused on the theologies of s*x, embodiment of the Divine in the q***r colonized body, and s*xual ethics based in q***r desire. Alba has also worked in the immigrants rights movement for over a decade, previously serving as the Executive Director of El Centro Hispano, the then-largest non-religiously affiliated grassroots community center in North Carolina.

Christian Nationalism is shaping conversations about religion, identity, government, and political power in the United States.

Understanding where it comes from, how it operates, and whose voices and beliefs it centers is an important part of understanding the political landscape today. Christian Nationalism and white Christian supremacy are deeply connected, but they are not interchangeable terms.

Christian Nationalism is a political ideology that seeks to connect American identity and government with Christianity. In the U.S., it has historically been intertwined with ideas about race, power, and the belief that Christianity should hold a privileged place in American public life.

Understanding that connection helps us see how religion, race, nationalism, and political power can come together and why naming these systems matters.
