When you donate to Disability Resources through you are contributing to the programs that shape the lives of our residents!

Our Activity Center is always bustling with a variety of programs designed to enrich the lives of our residents. Each day, we offer bible study sessions, gym activities to promote physical health, life skills lessons to foster independence, educational classes, and opportunities to develop social skills. These programs ensure that our folks are engaged, learning, and growing in a supportive environment. To make things more convenient for families and guardians, our Day Hab program is available from 8 AM-4 PM, Monday- Friday. This allows loved ones to participate fully in our activities while providing peace of mind to their guardians. Additionally, our Vocational dept. provides unique opportunities for residents to gain valuable work experience. It is home to our pepper bites production, a shredding service, and our well-known chili blend. These vocational programs not only teach important job skills but also allow residents to contribute meaningfully to the organization and the wider community.

To start with, Disability Resources Incorporated is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1987 by the Sheilds family, Varner family, and benefactor Norman J Dozier, DRI has grown to seven residential houses, each housing up to six individuals with dedicated support professional. Notably, the very first resident remains part of the community today! There are also 3 main buildings; Vocational, Activity Center, and Administration. Your donations go directly towards our programs and residents’ needs.
