💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

“Why don’t they just leave?”

A question often asked, but rarely with an understanding of what it takes to leave an abusive relationship.

Leaving is not always as simple as walking out the door. Behind that decision may be fear, threats, financial dependence, children, emotional manipulation, isolation, or the hope that things will change.

For many survivors, leaving can be the most dangerous time in an abusive relationship.
