Animal Aid for Vermilion Area (AAVA) We are a foster based rescue whose primary goal is to save as many animals from the Vermilion Parish Animal Control facility as we possibly can.

We pay frequent visits to the pound. We also work with the staff who provides us with pictures of the pets and basic information, which we then list online to Petfinder and Adopt A Pet. We then send these lists to other animal welfare organizations and beg them to save some of these pets. Many have been answering our calls and we are very thankful to the many pets they saved! Some pets are also pl

aced in AAVA's adoption program and adopted to the public, but this is only a minority, we simply cannot address this dire situation alone, due to not enough volunteers, foster homes and funding!

🚨 CRITICAL: The Vermilion Shelter is Over Capacity 🚨 Kitten season has been brutal. The Vermilion Shelter currently has nearly 70 cats and kittens, and AAVA has almost that many already in foster care. Our fosters are full, and we urgently need help.

We are looking for:
🐾 Fosters
🐾 Adopters
🐾 Rescue partners with available space

🆘🆘🆘 it truly is last call for Caesar(l) and Dewey (r). This is so heartbreaking. Both are super great dogs. They were both on the euthanasia list last week but were granted an extension. They won't get another one. PLEASE HELP.
