𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 (𝗥𝗬𝗟𝗔) is one of Rotary's premier leadership development programs for high school students. Through team-building activities, leadership training, service, and fellowship, students leave inspired to lead in their schools, communities, and beyond.

Earlier this month, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 was honored to serve at 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝟲𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗥𝗬𝗟𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, helping prepare and serve breakfast to the campers each morning while encouraging the next generation of leaders.

𝗔 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗬𝗟𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 for his outstanding leadership and dedication in making this year's camp another tremendous success. His commitment, along with the efforts of many Rotarians and volunteers, helped create a meaningful and memorable experience for every student.

At this week's Rotary luncheon, we enjoyed learning about the incredible work of the Vermilion Reach Group (VRG) and the impact they're making through the Vermilion Arts Experience Showcase.

🌟 𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 & 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲! 💙💛

Today’s Rotary Club of Abbeville luncheon reminded us why investing in young people is one of the most important things we do.

🎓 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁, our 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝘆?" 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 recipient!

The son of Blair & Michelle Hebert, Ethan was joined today by his family, including his sister Amelia Hebert, as he shared his future plans with our club.

A 2026 graduate of Vermilion Catholic, Ethan will attend 𝗟𝗦𝗨 this fall where he plans to study 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 with the goal of making a meaningful impact in the field of 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

Rotary proudly presented Ethan with the traditional "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝘆?" award & check, recognizing him as this year’s recipient of an award dating back to 𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟵, when Rotary President Ed LeBlanc established this remarkable tradition. More than seven decades later, it remains one of the programs our club treasures most.

A special thank you to 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗱𝗱 and 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗱 for their leadership of this year’s committee and for presenting Ethan with this well-deserved honor.

🎨 𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝘆𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴-𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 of the 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 (𝗩𝗥𝗚).

Lydia shared the inspiring story behind the 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, a free, week-long summer arts camp serving youth ages 6–17. Through fine arts, social-emotional learning, life skills, and a community showcase, VRG is opening doors and creating opportunities for children who may not otherwise have access to these experiences.

Her passion for investing in our community’s youth was evident, and we sincerely thank Lydia for sharing the incredible work VRG is doing throughout Vermilion Parish.

👏 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 and 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗱𝗱 recognized the outstanding volunteers who helped make last week’s 𝗥𝗬𝗟𝗔+ 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 at Stillwater Retreat Center another tremendous success.

Participation has doubled since last year, and the future of RYLA in Abbeville continues to grow. This outstanding leadership camp provides one of Rotary’s greatest opportunities to invest in tomorrow’s leaders while serving youth right here in our own community.

Congratulations to 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗬𝗟𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗰𝗡𝗮𝗯𝗯 and everyone who partnered with the Rotary Club of Abbeville to make this year’s camp such a success. 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲! Thank you to every Rotarian and volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart to this important project.

This special evening is one of the most important events of our Rotary year as we celebrate 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘆'𝘀 accomplishments, recognize outgoing leaders, install our new leadership team, honor Rotarians for their service, and look ahead to another exciting year of making a difference in our community.

We encourage every member to attend. Strong clubs are built through relationships, fellowship, and shared purpose. The Installation Banquet is our opportunity to come together, celebrate our accomplishments, thank those who have served, and support those preparing to lead.

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 – 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Our $15 lunch menu features Chicken Pasta Casserole, Green Salad, Bread, and Dessert.

We'll also hold our final 2025-2026 Rotary Engagement Forum (REF) session and Board Meeting of the Rotary year.

Past President Annette Mudd and President-Elect Gretchen LaJaunie will share important details regarding our upcoming Installation Banquet on June 24, 2026.

The banquet will once again be held at 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 (formerly our previous banquet venue), located at 601 E. Jane Street, Abbeville.

📝 A sign-up sheet will be available at Wednesday's meeting.

⏰ Gretchen must provide a final headcount by June 17, so please make every effort to attend as we celebrate another successful Rotary year and welcome our incoming leadership team.

This Wednesday, we welcome two special guests connected to meaningful community projects supported through our 2026 𝗦𝘁. 𝗣𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 fundraiser.

🌳 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, Manager of 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, will provide an update on the new playground equipment project planned for the park.
