🚨 TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO EARLY VOTE! 🚨

Lafayette, we need to talk. Early voting turnout among African American voters in our parish has been LOW. If we don’t show up, decisions about our property taxes, our courts, our water and our state will be made without us.

Our ancestors marched, bled and died for the right to vote. We cannot leave that right sitting at home today.

⏰ Polls close at 6:00 p.m. TODAY. No excuses. No “I’ll do it Election Day.” Something always comes up. GO TODAY.

📍 Early voting locations:

Registrar of Voters Office: 1010 Lafayette St., Suite 313, Lafayette
Martin Luther King Recreation Center: 309 Cora St., Lafayette
East Regional Library: 215 La Neuville Rd., Youngsville

🪪 Bring your photo ID.

📞 Call your people. RIGHT NOW. Call your mama, your auntie, your cousins, your church family, your coworkers, your neighbors. Ask them one question: “Have you voted yet?” If the answer is no, offer to pick them up and go together.

🔁 SHARE THIS POST. Tag 5 people who need to see it. Every share could put another voter in line before 6 p.m.

Can’t make it today? Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Find your polling place at voterportal.sos.la.gov

Our voices. Our votes. Our community. Let’s GO! ✊🏾🗳️

💛💚 THANK YOU, LAFAYETTE! 💛💚

The Creole Rendezvous is in the books, and what a day it was! 🪗🎶

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who made it happen:

🤝 Our sponsors, for believing in this celebration and investing in your community.
🍽️🎨 Our vendors, for sharing your food, your art, and your craft with us.
🎶 Creole Connection, for filling Heymann Park with the zydeco sound that kept us dancing.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Everyone who came out, who danced, ate, laughed, and celebrated with us.

At the African American Heritage Foundation, keeping Creole tradition alive is not an accident. It is intentional. Through our programs and events, we work to preserve and pass down the music, language, food, and heritage that make our culture who we are, so the next generation can carry it forward. 🌱

And we do it for the community, not for profit. Every event we host is created to bring people together, honor our history, and keep our traditions alive for generations to come. 🤝

We carry on the vision of our founder, Je’nelle Chargois, and we are grateful to each of you for being part of that legacy. 🙏

Until next year, Creole Proud. Creole Strong. 💛💚
