The Lafayette Bar Foundation is here to help. If you are a survivor of domestic violence and need an attorney for your Title 46 Protective Order Hearing, call (337) 237-4700 or visit us at 2607 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA, to apply and determine eligibility. Please note that you must have already been granted a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).

If applying in person, bring your TRO petition and order, driver's license, and any relevant evidence, including police reports, photographs of injuries, medical records, or other supporting documentation.

It is important to understand that this service provides limited representation only. The volunteer attorney's representation ends after the Protective Order Hearing/Rule and does not extend to other legal matters or future proceedings.

For additional help and support, survivors of domestic violence can contact the Family Justice Center of Acadiana. Their multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing an effective response to survivors of family violence.

The Lafayette Bar Foundation Protective Order Panel Program is funded through grants from the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Are you an attorney interested in accepting protective order cases? Please call 337-237-4700 ext. 102 and ask for Marilyn, Director of Pro Bono Services.

The Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence stands in solidarity with the Shreveport community and with all those affected by today's devastating incident of domestic violence.

We must, as a state, wrap our arms around this family and this community. We must acknowledge that nothing that happens in the home is isolated, and that communities mourn and grieve together.

The damage that domestic violence inflicts cannot be hidden. The devastation must be met with compassion, support, and resolve. Resolve to trust survivors, honor victims, and support safe communities.

If you are experiencing domestic violence in the Shreveport area, help is available. Project Celebration, Inc., the state-designated domestic violence service provider for Caddo Parish, delivers comprehensive, confidential victim advocacy and support. Their trained advocates are available 24/7.

🚗💜 Navigating Hope Campaign – Now Underway 💜🚗

At the heart of every survivor’s journey is one essential need: a safe way forward.

When someone finds the courage to leave an abusive situation, the next steps—getting to court, counseling, medical care, work, or school—shouldn’t be blocked by a lack of transportation. Yet for many survivors at Faith House, this is a daily barrier.

The Navigating Hope Campaign is focused on removing that barrier and helping survivors move forward with safety, dignity, and independence. Through this campaign, we’re working to ensure survivors have reliable transportation and access to the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

💜 Every mile matters.
💜 Every gift makes movement possible.
💜 Every supporter helps navigate hope.

Join us as we kick off this important campaign and stand with survivors on their path to healing and independence.

👉 Stay tuned to learn how you can help drive change. https://conta.cc/3LsbIEg
