The studio may have closed, but its photographs live on.

In 1994, Lee Hin Ming donated more than 2,500 photographs from his family’s collection to the National Archives of Singapore. Taken at Lee Brothers Studio, run by his father and uncle from 1910 until World War II, these photographs offer a rare glimpse into life in early Singapore.

1994年，李氏家族将超过2,500张珍贵照片捐赠给新加坡国家档案馆，成为记录新加坡早期生活的重要历史资料。

In 1968, a business chamber raised more than $1.23 million—but it wasn’t for business.

The funds went towards the National Defence Fund, marking a commitment to national defence that continues through the Chamber’s support for National Service today.

👀 Swipe to learn the difference between these three familiar figurines.

In the 1970s, OCBC packaged all three blessings — fortune, prosperity, and longevity — into coin banks to inculcate the habit of saving. More than just nostalgic keepsakes, these coin banks offer a glimpse into how local banks supported Singapore’s growing economy in the post-independence years.

这三尊”福禄寿”，是华侨银行于1970年代推出的扑满。🪙

它将新加坡人从小耳熟能详的 “福、禄、寿” 吉祥寓意融入扑满设计，让传统文化走进日常，也鼓励人们养成储蓄的习惯。

小小的扑满，却反映了本地银行在新加坡独立后推动经济发展所扮演的角色。
