For the past couple of months, training has been rolling out in 10 towns in Isabela and Negros Occidental, as well as in Naga City.

Sa tulong ng trained provincial, city, and municipal facilitators, inihahanda na rin po ang ating mga BHW at BNS sa ~100 barangay na mag-oorganisa ng mother-to-mother support groups upang maghatid ng kritikal na nutrition education at supplements para sa mga nanay at kanilang mga anak.

By training teachers like Sam, more families learned how to set up home and community gardens in Juban, Sorsogon. Through this, we help mothers and families diversify and augment a more balanced diet for children. To more nutrition-sensitive agriculture in PH!

Congratulations on a successful Buntis Congress event at Bacon District, Sorsogon City!

Together, we were able to reach more than 200 mothers with essential services including multiple micronutrient supplements as well as counseling on exclusive breastfeeding and proper complementary feeding.

With our partners in Nueva Ecija, in just ~6 months, we achieved the following across 300+ communities in 11 towns:

⚙️544 health actors trained
🤝🏻69 new nutrition support groups formed
🤰🏽5,139 pregnant women provided with prenatal supplements
👁️26,176 children received Vitamin A supplements
👦🏽19,709 children provided with deworming tablets

Last week, we wrapped up our final review of the Through Nutrition Program implementation this year. We're just as excited to intensify our efforts and reach even more pregnant mothers and children of Nueva Ecija in the next six months! 📈

Lanao del Norte is ready! Food supplement to prevent malnutrition in Filipino infants is rolling out!🥣👶🏽

The final leg of the joint training wrapped up last week: health workers are now prepared to receive, roll out, and track the Lipid-Based Nutrient Supplement-Small Quantity (LNS-SQ). LNS-SQ is a food supplement that effectively prevents malnutrition among infants.

By piloting in select PH sites, we helped push forward the integration of LNS-SQ towards enhancing DOH's micronutrition supplementation program.
