lake2lake Trail parkrun funrun all done 3rd October 2026 - the first of the post daylight savings 8am starts ................................................... what a stunning morning for a gathering of the parkrun clan, almost a frost but warmed up fast and the views were simply amazing.

The newest addition to our parkrun kit... the token board!

Gosh it made sorting tokens at the end so fast, AND we could keep an eye on any potential tokens missing (after a few recent walk-abouts).

Lake2Lake Trail parkrun Event No. 211 🏃‍♂️

A lovely warm light morning on the Lake2Lake Trail. Won't stay that way for long - a big shift next week post daylight savings closck shifts and the change BACK to an 8:00am start!!!

Thank you to the 39 parkrunners for joining us this morning.

We had 10 first timers to our parkrun today with visitors from Scotland, England and Australia. We also welcomed Kristine Maher and Russell Maher who were completing their very first parkrun ever — welcome to the parkrun family team!

🔥 On fire.... 4 PBs today were recorded by Olivia Achten, Amelia Meffan, Ali Meade and Sonia Doucet. Congratulations!

👏 First across the line was Dwight Grieve in 18:30, with Amy Niven our first female finisher in 22:54. Special mention goes to Fergus (and his baby girl) in a close 2nd place... Fergus pushing the pram! That deserved a round of applause!

🎉 A special unofficial milestone for Jonathan Cannizzaro. Jonathan completed his 150th parkrun today. Awesome!

And a big shout-out to our 10 hi-vis heroes who made this morning possible: Lee Webber, Kelvin Meade, Eli Webber, Hunter Grieve, Ali Meade, Sherron Tamatea-Scown, Dwight Grieve, Lee Grieve, Carly Webber and Nathan Webber. Thank you team! 🧡

Love a sleep in and leisurely 9am parkrun start???

Well, enjoy it while you can... this weekend is the last of our late Winter starts! With daylight savings approaching, Saturday 26th is your final chance at a pre-parkrun sleep-in!

Our team of volunteers will see you at the Kepler Carpark Shelter on Saturday at 8:50am for briefings, kicking off at 9am!

Then for Saturday October 3rd, you better go to bed in your run kit, because we're back to 8am parkruns starts!!

Lake2Lake Trail parkrun #210 19th September 2026 - 29 amazing finishers with 11 volunteers - a bit of wind and light showers but that is a Southland spring........................... First male home was
Omar Alberto MOLINA CASTILLO and first female Jazz BRAAKSMA - well done both of you.

Also some very amazing Milestones - firstly our lovely local Sherron Tamatea-Scown reaching 25 parkruns, all of them on our trail, Sherron is a community volunteer and appears in many places helping out, thank you and well done on your milestone.

We also had a lovely visitor Hilary Carroll who warmed up for her first visit to Lake2Lake trail parkrun with 149 other parkruns :) saving #150 for us - Hilary if a true parkrun tourist which didnt surprize me with her friendly attitude today - Hilarys warm up parkruns include - Dunedin, Southport, Cranleigh, Bushy Park, Arrow Valley, Fell Foot, Worchester Pitchcroft, Fire Service College, Whinlatter Forest, Keswick, Kew Woods, Evesham, Rothay Park, Ormskirk, Worchester, Delamere, Wyre Forest, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Ifeild Millpond, Lytham Hall, South Manchester, Guildford, Preston, Haigh Woodland, Horsham, Croxteth Hall, Broadwater, Knowsley, Tawd Valley, Druridge Bay, Mole Valley, Crosby. Whew great work and hopefully see you again.

What a morning for Lake2Lake Trail parkrun #208! Given the rain before and after, we got pretty lucky and only got a little wet. Huge kudos to everyone that came along... we still had 27 runners and walkers out on the trail today!!

Plenty to celebrate – 6 first timers, 5 PBs, two new volunteers, and some seriously speedy running!

🔥 Mahe Braaksma flew around the course to finish first overall in an impressive 18:21, also recording the highest age grade of the day at 77.29%. Lily Drummond was our first female finisher, crossing the line in 26:00. Fantastic running!

🎉 There were 5 shiny new PBs today. Huge congratulations to Mahe Braaksma, Arthur Reeves, Al Weir, Grant Excell and Charlotte Shipman. Especially grand with that head wind in the exposed Tui Bay section!

We also welcomed 6 people to Lake2Lake Trail parkrun, completing our course for the first time. We hope you enjoyed our little corner of Fiordland and that we'll see you back on the trail again soon.

And a particularly big thanks to Kelvin and Ali Meade, who earned their first volunteer credits today. Kelvin course checking and Ali Tailwalking (success... she came last hahahaha)

And here's a pretty cool milestone for our event…

🌿 Lake2Lake Trail parkrun has now welcomed more than 3,000 different participants!

Since we started on 27 August 2022, 3,001 people have completed 7,748 parkruns on our course. That's 38,740km of running and walking along the Lake2Lake Trail, along with 944 PBs and an incredible 1,838 volunteer credits contributed by 197 different volunteers.

Not bad for a Saturday morning in Te Anau! 💚

Well done to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, cheered and joined us today. Another brilliant morning with our Lake2Lake parkrun community. See you next Saturday! 👋
