🎉 Queenstown Pickleball Club Medal Celebration! 🎉

The Canterbury Classic, one of the biggest pickleball tournaments in the South Island, was held in Christchurch from 30 May to 1 June.

We are thrilled to announce that our proud Queenstown Pickleball Club members brought home some fantastic results!

🥇 Gold Medal

Mixed Doubles 60+ Omid Mohtadi & Nici Curtis

Congratulations to all our medal winners on their outstanding achievements! Your hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport have paid off, and we couldn't be prouder. 👏👏👏

A special round of applause also goes to all our other club members who competed. While not everyone came home with a medal, you represented Queenstown with great sportsmanship, determination, and heart. We celebrate your efforts and the courage it takes to step onto the court and give it your all.

Queenstown Pickleball Cup 2026 🇳🇿🇦🇺

What an incredible day on court! We came together to celebrate sport, teamwork, and community spirit with an ANZAC-themed tournament that brought so much energy and heart. ❤️

We had 24 players, forming 6 amazing teams, competing across a full day of fun and friendly competition.

From morning skill challenges to the final match, the day was packed with excitement:

🎯 Skill Challenges (Ace Serve, Lob & Catch, Dinking as One)
🔥 High-energy Round Robin matches (5 rounds)
🍽️ Lunch break full of laughs and recovery
🏆 Semi-finals, Plate Final & Grand Finals
🎉 A beautiful finish with Prizegiving

Our first Pickleball baby is on the way! 👶

As many of you know, Sophie, one of our very first committee members when the official club was founded in 2022, is expecting a baby!

Sophie is such a lovely person and always brings a big smile and happy energy to the courts. Her last day playing pickleball was 30 January, and she is now taking a well-earned break as she prepares to welcome her baby.

This baby means so much to all of us as it is the first baby in our club’s history! We are all so excited and can’t wait to meet the newest (and cutest!) member of our pickleball family.

Sophie, we are so happy for you, and congratulations on becoming a mum! Wishing you and your family all the very best. 💛

It’s been pointed out that Guillaume also had a baby last year. Congratulations 🎊

HO HO HO – Merry Christmas! 🎄

On Sunday 14th December. The Queenstown Pickleball Club celebrated Christmas with our valuable members at the Event Centre.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. We are usually busy on the courts playing games and then heading back to our everyday lives, so we don’t often have time to stop, chat, and really get to know one another. This celebration was a great opportunity to connect, spend time together, and strengthen friendships within our club.

Special thanks to Alister, Marie, Toni, Mayu, Rae, Andy, and Barry.
Thank you also to Chris, Yuriko, Mayu, Rebecca, Alister, and Kevin for the wonderful entertainment.

In 2025, we held the Andi P Tournament, the Queenstown Cup, coaching sessions with Skip and Will, and many regular sessions at the Event Centre, Wakatipu High School, and Shotover Primary School. All of these were made possible thanks to the hard work of our committee members and amazing volunteers.

We hope all our members are having a great time on the courts, and we truly appreciate your continued support. Our club strives to make the courts a happy and welcoming place for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you all in 2026 and are very excited about the events for the coming year.

Thank you again to all our members for your continued support, helping keep our club active and thriving.

🎉 Pickleball Cup Fun! 🏓

This weekend we held our very first Pickleball Cup and wow… what a day! 😄
It was heaps of fun and such an awesome team-building event. Everyone was smiling all day, laughing so hard we felt like kids again! 😂

In the morning we had skill challenges and mini games, 🍴 lunch was a delicious potluck, and in the afternoon, it was team vs team in a round robin. The total scores crowned the champions! 🏆
A massive shoutout to our organisers – you absolute heroes! 🙌

We can’t wait for the second Pickleball Cup. Until then, keep practising your sliding… like doing swings at home with a frying pan or trying out shots with your non-dominant hand! 🍳😆

Thanks to everyone who came, played, ate, and laughed. You made it a day full of fun and friendship! 💖

This year, we’re planning a full-on Pickleball Christmas day — morning and afternoon social play, plus a yummy lunch on us! 🍴✨

🍽 Lunch: Around 12 pm — catered and ready to fuel your fun

It’s a busy season, but if you’re keen to join the fun, lock the date in now!

🌟 What a week! 🌟

This week we had a couple of very special visitors — Rebekah and Nat popped over from the sunny Gold Coast to beautiful Queenstown! ☀️🏔️

Queenstown might feel a bit chilly compared to the Gold Coast, but we were blessed with stunning weather and warm days all week.
Still... it might’ve felt a bit cold for them! 😉

Even though the Event Centre was mostly off-limits thanks to the Queenstown Marathon prep, we managed to have some awesome pickleball sessions at Wakatipu High School. 💪

Rebekah and Nat run a pickleball academy for kids back on the Coast, and wow — watching them play was something else! So much skill, energy, and joy — we were all a bit starstruck, to be honest! 😍

Thanks heaps for joining us and sharing the court (and laughs) with our crew. You two brought a bit of sunshine with you — come back any time! 🌈💛
