Sincere apologies for my late post of our very, very wet day on Sunday at the 36th running of the Stratford Street Sprint, now to be called the Durham Lake Holiday Park Stratford Street Sprint. Thank you to Gavin Cox who continues to be our main Sponsor every year, only this year under the name of his growing new business. Your loyalty is commendable. Thank you to the slimmed down entry list of 22 that actually arrived on the day. Sickness of both humans and cars were the cause of that. The very small crowd enjoyed the thrills of the day. Thank you for your support. R.A.T.S. will benefit from your gold coin donations. The Residents & Businesses have been so loyal and supportive over the years as has the Stratford District Council - Te Kaunihera ā Rohe o Whakaahurangi. Thank you. We also wish to thank the wonderful Spot Prize Sponsors from Businesses in Hawera & Stratford. The Hinton yard is a great place for the Pits, so Thank You Daniel. Congrats to the 2026 winner, Jayden Carrick from Wanganui Car Club who, incidentally would have broken the 2010 record of 1.25.41 held by Glenn Smith, had he not hit two chicanes on his second run. A penalty of 5secs a cone meant 10 seconds was added to his 1.25.22 time. The marshals were brilliant on the day. We had two new lad's who stuck it out in the very cold wet weather all day.
