Pukekura Toastmasters

Huge congratulations to all those who stepped up to the first club round competition last night ! With the table topic category and the question “Is AI going to take all our jobs or make us better at the jobs we do ! “ we had a huge judge deliberation’s that had to break up two tie breakers situations. Also a great meeting theme of getting out of your comfort zone. So if you ever feel like pushing yourself for growth get in touch.

Did you miss our meeting last night? There was an uplifting, energetic, and refreshing spring vibe.
Tick tock, Graham’s speech was about a clock. He shared some historical information about the demolition of New Plymouth’s original clock tower in 1969. But wait! There’s more to come from Graham about the decision and planning of its replacement in the mid-eighties.
Kane’s presentation revealed thoughtful content, which is his signature style. He involved audience members to enhance relevant points in his speech - a speech about different ways to motivate people by knowing what makes them tick.
Eric shared his worst day at the office ever with the snowball effect. As his office is the great farming outdoors, his story involved a quad bike and paddock gates that he probably wished he hadn’t left open 🙃
Other members shared thoughtful observations and encouraging feedback for our speakers 🙂
If you’re looking for a new beginning or some spring growth, bookmark the evening of 16 September - our next meeting.
Hope we see you there 😃
