What have we been doing at the shed lately? Well here's a small sample for you.
We built 2 cubbies on wheels for Turuturu School. Refinished a chair. Built a laundry cabinet and a letterbox. Trimmed the bottom off a door. Duplicated a wooden piece for a vintage hay pusher. Made a piece for a bed in a caravan. Had a working bee and created a garden full of edibles. Refinished 2 dining tables. Built some planter boxes and a bespoke TV stand with matching side tables. Refinished a toybox. The list goes on and on.

What will we be doing over the next wee while? Your guess is as good as ours. We have no idea. We can put our hand to most things and not just wooden things either. So if you have something in mind that you would like done then pop in and have a chat.

Wednesday's through to Saturdays from 12pm til 3pm at the Egmont Showgrounds off Burnside Ave.

Hawera Community Shed would like to give a huge shout out to Regal Trading and thank Clem Prestidge for helping us out with a problem we had with our roller door. He was there when he said he would be and had the problem fixed very quickly. So thanks again to Regal Trading.

So we did something a little different today that didn't involve wood. It was a few weeks in the planning.
Thank you to Bunnings Hawera for their donation of potting mix and to Sandfords Hawera depot for the stones. Our little vegie garden pots are now started and heading towards supplying our members with vegies. Any surplus will be gifted to the wider community via the local food bank etc.

A big thanks to those members that came and lent a hand and others that offered support.

The Hawera Community shed is pleased to support the I nga ra o mua "In my day" storytelling and connection group. This free 6 week event is open everyone although registration is a must and is required by Monday 17th August. The first meeting is on Wednesday 19th August 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Ngati Ruanui Tahua, 59 Victoria St, Hawera. In conjunction with the Hawera Genealogy Society.
If you have some stories from the past or want to hear then sign up for free. Registration and other details are noted in the poster below.

When the shed received this table it had loose legs and the top was scratched in several places. Thanks to the hard work of a few of our members it has come out looking fantastic.

This is now for sale in our little shop. We are looking for offers around $150. All proceeds go back into running costs for the Shed.

Just a quick note to let everyone know the community shed will be closed on Friday 10th July. This is to give our regular members a much needed day of to spend with family and friends and celebrate Matariki.
We will be open again on the 11th as usual.

Hi everyone, it's been a long while since our last post but I can assure you we have been keeping busy in the shed. Lots of little projects are being done by members and all of them are looking fantastic. Our little shop is starting to fill up again after almost being sold out in February. We have heaps of hardware and secondhand tool for sale, also.

One thing we are running very low on is rags. So we are on the scourge for old t shirts, flannel or cotton sheets or even towels. So if you have anything that fits that description lurking in the back of your cupboards we would love to take them off your hands. Any condition and you don't even have to worry about cutting them up. Just drop off to the shed in the showgrounds during open hours.

What a fantastic weekend at the Hawera A&P show. Thank you to all the shed members who took time out of their weekend to lend a hand at the shed over the weekend. And thank you to everyone who attended the show and came to see what we had on offer. It was wonderful to see and chat to everyone as they made their way around. It had to be one of the best shows weekends we have had for a while and even the weather was well behaved.

We are starting to set everything up for the A & P show this weekend. Come a long and show your surrport. There's something for everyone. Small planter boxes, welcome signs, fence mounted whirly gigs, 3D printed fidget and vases for dried flowers, assorted games and garage sale items (tools etc).
