🌿 Meet Amanda | Kaitiaki of Keirunga Arts Venue

Kia ora, I’m Amanda Sowersby, Venue Manager here at Keirunga Arts Venue. I also think of my role as a kaitiaki, a guardian and caretaker of this special place.

This land means a lot to me personally. I grew up playing in this area, so it feels quite special to now have a role in caring for it and welcoming others here.

There’s something about Keirunga. You arrive and immediately feel the beauty and tranquillity of the grounds, the gardens, the trees, the historic spaces and, of course, all the creativity that happens here.

My role is a little bit of everything. I look after the venue, show people around, manage bookings, and help with the marketing and promotion of Keirunga and everything happening here.

So if you’re looking for a beautiful space for a wedding, celebration, workshop, class, meeting, performance or special event, I’m your main point of contact.

I’d love to welcome you and show you around.

There are so many wonderful things happening at Keirunga Arts Venue. 🌸🌿

It’s not only a place for art, painting and pastels. It’s a place for movement, theatre, music, yoga, Qigong, wellness workshops, creativity and connection.

On Friday mornings, we also have two Tai Chi groups who gather and practise in our beautiful courtyard. This week they had the rather magical backdrop of the cherry blossom in full bloom. 🌸

A lovely reminder that Keirunga is a place where art, movement, nature and community all meet.
