☀️ The sun was out and the water was great! 🚣‍♀️🏹

We had an awesome day at The Y Outdoor Adventure Hub, with a fantastic group getting stuck into rafting, kayaking, orienteering and archery.

Plenty of teamwork, challenges, new experiences and, most importantly, heaps of fun!

Days like this are exactly what the Outdoor Adventure Hub is all about, getting young people outdoors, active and trying something new. 💙

🤪 Week 2, Day 2: Wild Wacky Day! 🎨✨

Today at Y-Kids Raureka, we let our silly side shine! Our tamariki got their hair done in some seriously wacky styles and had a blast getting their faces painted with all sorts of cool and creative designs! 🎨🤪

It was awesome seeing everyone get involved, embrace the craziness and show off their wild looks! 💇‍♀️💇‍♂️

After a fun-filled morning, our tamariki got stuck in and helped make some delicious Rice Bubble Slice 🍫 While we waited for it to set, we headed outside for some exciting team games, including Musical Chairs, Seaweed and plenty of other fun challenges! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

After all the running, laughs and friendly competition, we finished the day by coming together as a group, sharing some kind words with one another and talking about the things we’re grateful for. And of course, we couldn’t finish the day without enjoying our freshly made Rice Bubble Slice for afternoon tea! 😋

🌸 Week 2 Day 1 – Fairy Adventure 🧚‍♀️✨

What a beautiful day we had today! ☀️

This morning, our tamariki got creative and made some beautiful fairy lanterns to help the fairies find their way home, along with some amazing little fairy houses for them to live in. 🧚‍♀️🏡✨

Later in the day, we headed off to the beautiful Fairy Walk in Clive, where we discovered so many magical and amazing things along the way. 🌿🍄🧚‍♀️

In the afternoon, we made the most of the beautiful weather and headed to one of our local parks, where the tamariki enjoyed playing handball and tag with their friends. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨

Farmyard Friends

Today the Taradale Tamariki went to visit the animals at the Haumoana Zoo 🐂🐖 Hastings.

They had a fantastic day learning all about the animals, 🐑🐐 getting to feed and pat some of the animals 🐎🐏.

They especially loved the train ride 🚂.

Back at the site they played outside games, played in the playground 🛝 and the much loved sandpit.

Wild & Wacky Day
Our brilliant creative Children from Taradale had a fun day of Face painting, some came with wacky hair 🪮🧒 others did their hair here.

They also got a much needed run around on the playground/turf or sandpit 🛝🏃. And then we relaxed for a bit while watching a movie 📽️, then back outside enjoying the sun 🌞 once again on the playground🛝.

🌿 Week 2, Day 1: Nature’s Adventures! 🌳🐦

What a beautiful way to kick off Week 2 at the Y-Kids Raureka Holiday Programme! 💚

Today, our tamariki headed out to explore the beautiful White Pine Bush Scenic Reserve, where we got to slow down, connect with nature and discover everything the bush had to offer. 🌿✨

From spotting all the different plants 🌱 and listening to the birds singing 🐦, to watching the water flow through the bush 💦, there was so much to see and enjoy along the way!

Our tamariki had a fantastic time walking through the bush, taking in the scenery and enjoying the fresh air. We then finished the day off at the park, where everyone had some time to relax, play and enjoy a little me time. 🛝☀️

Week 1 Day 5 – Ice Skating ⛸️❄️

Today we started our day by getting creative and making our very own jewellery to take home. 💎✨

Around 9:30am, we headed off in the vans to the Hawke’s Bay Showgrounds, where the tamariki had the opportunity to have a go at ice skating. ⛸️❄️

Some of our tamariki were very confident on the ice, while others needed a little extra encouragement. It was awesome to see them keep trying, build their confidence and eventually get the hang of it! 🙌😊

This afternoon was a little more chilled. We had a movie playing inside, while some of the tamariki enjoyed being outside playing hockey and making the most of our park. 🏑🌳

Another fantastic day filled with creativity, courage, laughter and lots of fun with friends! ❤️

🌻🎨 Week 1, Day 5: Plant, Paint & Play! 🐝🐞

What a lovely way to finish off Week 1 at the Y-Kids Raureka Holiday Programme! 💛

Today our tamariki got their creative hats on and decorated their very own pot plants before planting their sunflower seeds 🌱🌻 We can’t wait to watch them grow!

Then it was time to get crafty again, with our tamariki creating the cutest little ladybugs 🐞 and bumblebees 🐝 — they turned out absolutely adorable!

After all the fun and creativity, it was time to wind down and relax. Some of our tamariki enjoyed chilling in the shade, while others headed inside for YouTube or even got their hair done! 💆🏽‍♀️✨

What a fabulous first week we’ve had! 💛 We hope everyone has a beautiful and relaxing weekend, and we’ll see you all ready for Week 2! 🎉🌈

Tie-Dye Takeover
Today our very creative Taradale Tamariki did Tie-Dying🫟 either a Bag 🛍️ or a Pair of socks🧦.
After lunch we ventured outside to have a much needed run around 🏃 or play on the playground 🛝.

🧚✨ Week 1, Day 4: Fairy Village Builders ✨🧚

Today at the Y-Kids Raureka Holiday Programme, our tamariki stepped into a little world of magic and creativity! 🌿🏡✨

Our tamariki got creative decorating their very own fairy mushrooms and fairy houses, before heading out to Clive to discover the magical Fairy Lane! 🧚‍♀️🌸 What a beautiful hidden gem it is! The kids had so much fun exploring the fairy village, spotting all the little magical details and finding the perfect spots to leave their creations. 🥰✨

Once we arrived back at site, the creativity continued! 🎨 We made our very own lanterns and had some fun making homemade sherbet, a sweet way to finish off such a magical day! 🍭🏮

It was such a fun-filled day of creating, exploring and discovering somewhere new. We loved seeing the excitement on our tamariki’s faces as they explored Fairy Lane for the very first time! 🧚✨💜
