Our incredible manager Deidre participated in the Chamber of Commerce event, She Leads: Driven By Impact on Tuesday evening.
The thought-provoking event offered valuable insights and opportunities for connection. Deidre shared the stage with Misty King from Mates4Life and Alesha Hope from Hawke’s Bay Foundation, as they collectively explored the significance of community leadership, wellbeing, sustainable impact, and the realities of not-for-profit work.

This week we're celebrating Youth Week across Aotearoa New Zealand 🎉

Youth Week is a nationwide festival of events organised by young New Zealanders to celebrate the talents, passion, and success of local young people. This year's theme is:

"Taringa Whakarongo! Ki te reo o ngā taiohi - Our Voices Matter! We deserve to be heard."

At Heretaunga Women's Centre, we wanted to give our local young wāhine the space to express themselves and be heard.

We connected with Hastings Youth Council, and thanks to Renee Makea, Youth Development Coordinator at District Council we met with Paige and Georgia, who reached out to their friends and gathered some incredible artwork.

On Friday 16 May, they came to hang everything on our walls, with the help of Gem and Paige, both Youth Councillors. The result? A beautiful display that fills our space with colour, creativity, and voice.

The artwork will be on display here for two weeks. Female members of the public are warmly welcome to come and have a look, and post-it notes will be available to write or draw a note 💛

This event was proudly supported by YAAP (Youth Art Ambassador Programme) at
