Hospice Waikato Hospice Waikato is the very heart of specialist community palliative care in the Waikato.

We provide the highest quality services for people living with an active, progressive and advanced disease or illness, and provide support to their families/whānau. Hospice care has a unique whole person approach- which means physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs are equally important. Hospice care is provided by a dedicated team that may include: a nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, palliative care nurse, palliative medicine doctor, social worker, counsellor, spiritual care coordinator, trained Hospice volunteer.

Honey, Niamh, Emerald and Suze from Hospice Waikato attended the 20th Annual Rauawaawa Kaumātua Olympics recently, to support 450 kaumātua from across the Motu (New Zealand) competing at the games. 🥰

While competition was spirited, the event is an inclusive space that encourages kaumātua to have fun and compete regardless of their physical abilities.

What a lovely morning tea we had at Matamata Hospice Shop recently, celebrating our amazing volunteers. 🥰

We were delighted to present three of our Matamata volunteers with Long Service Certificates for five years of wonderful service to our store.

To say we’ll miss her is an understatement.❤️

When Alejandra arrived in New Zealand from Chile, she never imagined she'd one day become a Registered Nurse at Hospice Waikato. From student placement to healthcare assistant, graduate nurse and finally RN, we've had the privilege of supporting her every step of the way.
