Just a reminder to get in quick, as landing spots are starting to be selected by hunters who aren't you!!!

The team have been working away to bring fly in trips to Pureora again this year. It's a great way to get further into the Pureora Forest Park without the longer walk. The focus is on managing the numbers of deer, pigs and goats and gathering information on animal numbers and bush conditions for dept of conservation.

More information can be found at our clubs website https://www.nzdawaikato.org.nz/ .

Bit of a late post but a few weekends ago a group of seven members went for a club hunt around Piropiro.

Brett got there nice and early Friday to nab the shelter at western end of campground

The campground was reasonably quiet & peaceful.

there were a couple of encounters with deer over the weekend, and Scott managed to shoot a hind Sat morning and was generous in giving the other guys a bit of venison each.

Only a couple of brave souls headed out Sunday morning as the westerly was picking up
