We're happy to share that Aurora Rangatahi is soon returning to ignite the potential in a new group of rangatahi✨

Our leadership programme is designed to empower Māori and Pasifika aged between 16-24. It blends interactive workshops, mentorship, and peer support networks to give rangatahi the tools to navigate challenges, develop resilience, set goals, make healthy life choices, and spearhead transformations.

This is a free opportunity thanks to the tautoko and awhi of SkyCity Auckland Community Trust. If you know of anyone that might be interested, please ask them to complete a registration form at harmonypasifika.org.nz.

Riah, our amazing student psychologist, shares a special message to celebrate. It's connected perfectly to this year's theme: E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le 'nu'u - From the high mountains are the blessings of the village.

He taonga te kōrero, conversation is a treasure 💙

We had the privilege of welcoming Sir John Kirwan to our team hui. He shared his life experiences covering the highs, the struggles, and why it is so important to speak openly about mental health within the community - and what it means for our kaupapa.

There was also kōrero about Sir John’s charity work including the mahi he is doing with Mitey, a programme supporting kura as well as a new app designed to support mental wellbeing.

Our team was honoured to be in Sir John's presence and very grateful for the opportunity to ask questions and learn from him. We were inspired and even more motivated to help individuals, whānau, and our community to think differently and make lasting change.

If you or someone you know would like to kōrero, our counselling service may be useful. You can learn more at harmonypasifika.org.nz.

Ngā mihi nui to Sir John for making the time to be with us and for everything you shared!

Happy Youth Week 💥

This week is about celebrating rangatahi and everything they contribute to Aotearoa thanks to Ara Taiohi - Peak Body for Youth Development .

We're lucky to meet and work alongside many incredible rangatahi as part of our mahi and can see how many are becoming guiding lights in their whānau and communities. Find out more at harmonypasifika.org.nz.

Road deaths and injuries affect thousands of whānau each year 💔 It's one of the reasons our mahi is focused on road safety and helping people make positive change before they drive.

It's why we’re proud to take part in Road Safety Week as we know everyone has a part to play in making roads safer. The week aims to inspire communities to take action on road safety and promote life-saving messages all year round, so we recruited one of the littlest members of the Harmony Pasifika to help. Find handy ideas and resources about how to get involved at www.roadsafetyweek.org.nz
