Bellyful East Auckland

Bellyful East Auckland Bellyful nourishes and connects communities by cooking and delivering free meals to whānau, with babies or young children, who need support.

Refer a whānau or yourself here: bellyful.org.nz/bellyful-branches/east-auckland/ Our aim is to encourage whānau to accept help and support from their local community - just like our grandparents did! Parenting is hard work, so why not take all the help that’s offered? Let’s all help each other out and build a stronger community in the process. You can help us fill bellies by making a donation: https://bellyful.org.nz/donate-now/

From Recipient to Volunteer: Denise's Bellyful Story

Denise first connected with Bellyful when her daughter received meals after the birth of her first baby.

Seeing the relief those meals brought during a busy and challenging time left a lasting impression. For a few nights, there was one less thing to worry about, and Denise saw firsthand the difference a simple, home-cooked meal could make.

Inspired by that experience, Denise joined Bellyful as a volunteer, wanting to help other families receive the same care and support when they need it most.

One of the things Denise loves most about Bellyful is being part of a wonderful group of volunteers who share a common goal – providing wholesome meals and a helping hand to local whānau.

As Denise says, "It's a small act that can make a big difference, and I'm proud to be part of it." 💕

Thank you, Denise, for your kindness, generosity, and commitment to feeding whānau across East Auckland. 🩷

Throwback Thursday: A Look Back at Our Cook-a-thons! 🩷

When Bellyful East Auckland called the Salvation Army in Howick home for our cook-a-thons. For more than 10 years, this was where countless meals were prepared with love and care for local whānau.

Watching these memories is extra special as we spot so many familiar volunteer faces who helped make Bellyful what it is today. While some have since moved on to new adventures, we're incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and aroha they gave to our community. 💕

Thank you to every volunteer who has been part of our journey over the years — past and present. Together, you've helped us feed hundreds of local families when they needed it most.

🌸 Meet Megan! 🌸

We’re excited to introduce one of our newest Bellyful East Auckland volunteers, Megan Macarthur 💗

“I joined Bellyful about a month ago after my friend Shannon Van Tonder, who is already part of Bellyful, recommended I get involved.

My ‘why’ is simple — I love giving back and helping others. I also wanted to show my children the joy that comes from volunteering and supporting your community.

I love what Bellyful provides, not only through meals for young families and those in need, but also through the wonderful sense of community within Bellyful itself. Andrea and everyone I’ve met so far have welcomed me with open arms, and everyone has been so lovely.

I’m looking forward to taking part in my first cook and have also joined the fundraising group.”

Thank you, Megan, for choosing to share your time, energy and aroha with us. We can’t wait to see the difference you’ll make for local whānau and within our Bellyful family. 🩷

💖 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Jill Yeoman

For the past 5 years, Jill has been generously giving her time and heart to Bellyful East Auckland, making a difference for local whānau when they need it most.

After moving into the area and hearing about her sister's involvement with Bellyful in Christchurch, Jill knew she wanted to be part of an organisation that supports families through challenging times.

Jill loves taking part in our monthly cooks, not only helping prepare nourishing meals but also building lasting friendships with fellow volunteers. One of her favourite parts of volunteering is delivering meals to families, creating many treasured memories along the way.

Each month, Jill also delivers meals to the NICU at Middlemore Hospital, ensuring mums have a warm meal when they need it most. 💕

"Being part of Bellyful means making a difference to families when they are at their lowest," says Jill.

Ngā mihi nui, Jill, for your kindness, dedication, and the aroha you share with our community. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Bellyful whānau.
