Our CEO Dale Bailey was privileged to speak at the opening of the North Shore Careers Expo last week and share insights from our Careers and Transitions Strategic Leadership Programme pilot in secondary schools.

The pilot has been made possible through the support of the Tertiary Education Commission, Education Partnership & Innovation Trust (EPIT), Rātā Foundation, Simplicity Foundation and Trust Tairāwhiti who share our belief that effective strategic leadership of careers and transitions will amplify positive outcomes for our rangatahi, communities, economy and society.

The early results of the pilot are very promising, and we look forward to sharing more in due course!

We're looking forward to working with more passionate tumuaki in Aotearoa (both beginning principals and principal mentors) through our co-delivery of the Beginning Principal Programme!

WHAT ARE THESE PROGRAMMES?
1. The Aspiring Principal Programme, delivered by the The University of Waikato, supports experienced educators wanting to make the move to become a principal. There are 200 applicants accepted each year.

2. The Beginning Principal Programme, delivered by Evaluation Associates Te Huinga Kākākura Mātauranga and Te Uru Amokura - Springboard Trust, is a two-year programme available to all tumuaki starting out in the role.

One-on-one mentoring by an experienced current or recent principal is an integral part of both programmes.

What a way to come together as a team!

Our quarterly hui brought us together kanohi ki te kanohi for a joyful day of connection, kōrero and creativity – and even a wedding dress! We found that sweet spot where mahi was both focused and playful, balancing deep strategic thinking, insights and ideas with plenty of fun, waiata and kai shared along the way.

There’s something special about being in the same space, building together, laughing together and strengthening whanaungatanga. Feeling grateful for this incredible rōpū and the momentum we’re taking with us into Term 2.
