Investing in Our Wellbeing Holistic Health Workshop

Our members recently had the privilege of attending a transformative Holistic Health Workshop at Te Pae o Kura.

This was more than a workshop it was a reminder that every person deserves the knowledge and tools to understand their own health and wellbeing.

Key takeaways our members valued:
1.Whole person health:
Looking at wellbeing through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual lenses
2.Practical tools:
Learning ways to support our own health in everyday life
3.Empowerment through knowledge:
Understanding that small, informed choices create lasting impact

We left feeling informed, inspired, and more connected to ourselves and to each other.

Ngā mihi nui for hosting us and sharing this vital mātauranga. We believe this is kōrero every whānau and every community should have access to.

Because when our wāhine are well, our whānau and communities thrive.

Programme Update:
Mother’s Day Wellbeing Evening

Last month we hosted a Mother’s Day event focused on maternal wellbeing for women from diverse communities. The programme provided practical self care education, including self massage techniques for exhaustion and muscle relaxation strategies that mothers can use at home.

Participants also received wellbeing resources and affirmations reinforcing self-worth and reminding attendees that support services are available.

The evening concluded with a shared meal and celebration, strengthening peer connections among mothers.
Feedback highlighted the value of dedicated time for rest and the importance of culturally responsive wellbeing spaces.

We thank all mothers who attended and continue to shape our community with their strength. This is the place where every mother is seen supported and celebrated.

In Sisterhood support brought together newcomers and locals for a beautiful Iftar Night at New Lynn Community Centre and prepare the meal for 240 people including youth and children's.This kaupapa wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing supporters and collaborators:

Late post, but too good not to share 🌏💚

Our In Sisterhood youth teamed up with Earth Action Trust to clean up Blockhouse Bay street and what a day it was!

No phones. Just gloves, bags, teamwork, and big smiles.

Our young people connected with other amazing community members, learned about caring for our local taiao, and proved how active and capable they are when given the chance.

A day without a device = a day full of connection, purpose, and fresh air, that means a lot to our young generation.

Huge thanks to Earth Action Trust and Blockhouse Bay Library for having us.
