We’re pleased to announce the next exhibition in our Becroft Gallery will be in collaboration with ‘Artopia’ with their show “Dreams”

“Dreams,” showcases artwork created by students aged 4 to 15. Through painting and mixed media, these young people explore many forms of dreams - real dreams, imagined worlds, personal aspirations, and fantastical scenes. Born from their limitless creativity, each artwork reflects the individuality, emotions, and unique imagination of its artist.

This exhibition is a celebration of the creativity and talent of these young people as we watch them grow into distinctive artistic voices of the future.”

Please join us for an Exhibition Celebration on Sunday, June 14th at 4pm - 6pm

“Transformative II is a retrospective, a protest, and an act of transformation.”

We’re excited to announce the next exhibition in the Beacroft gallery, Transformative II, from Grae Burton. His first solo exhibition for 10 years and the first since becoming Kaiwhakahaere at Lake House Arts nine years ago.

Across 30 years Burtons work has moved through several mediums and themes; from drawing and performance to digital image making and video art, it is a practice shaped by
forward momentum. This exhibition, set 20 years on from his first residency “Transformative” at the Suter Gallery in Nelson, has emerged from Burtons refusal to allow the work to remain static.

Half retrospective, half protest this show reflects his resistance to seeing earlier works treated as commodities, removed from the sphere of artistic care and meaning. The response is this exhibition; a reclamation, and a reinvention.

Please join us for our exhibition celebration and special performance on Sunday the 24th
from 4pm (performance at 4:30pm)

Transformative II will then be open every day from Saturday 23rd of May until Thursday 11th
of June in the Becroft Gallery, from 9am-2pm.
