Ko te pae tawhiti whāia kia tata, ko te pae tata whakamaua kia tīna.
Pursue the distant horizon and bring it closer; hold firmly to what is already near.

Our Lake House Theme moving through the end of 2026 and into 2027.

Our annual themes have reflected the journey of Te Whare Roto o Toi – Lake House Arts: from planting the seed and nurturing its growth, through new discoveries and periods of challenge, to recognising our place within an intergenerational legacy. Our new theme now turns our attention towards the future.

This whakataukī expresses the balance required of us. We will be ambitious without losing sight of our kaupapa. We will pursue new opportunities that generate meaningful value and strengthen our ability to serve our communities.

Our distant horizon is a resilient and increasingly self-sustaining arts organisation. Our near horizon is the community, creativity and shared purpose that already give Lake House Arts its life.

We will bring the future closer while holding firmly to what matters most.
