⚾ IT STARTS WITH BASEBALL.

But Teeball gives young players so much more.

Running.

Throwing.

Catching.

Listening.

Sharing.

Trying again.

Making friends.

Building confidence.

And most importantly — having fun.

Teeball is a chance for children aged 4–8 to discover baseball in a safe, welcoming and positive environment.

Start with baseball. Build something bigger.

Their journey starts here.

⚾ BASEBALL IS THE GAME.
PEOPLE ARE THE CLUB.

Behind every team are people.

The coach who gives up their Saturday.
The parent who brings everyone to training.
The volunteer who arrives early.
The teammate who cheers you on.
The player who helps someone else learn.
The friend you didn't know you were going to make.

That's West City.

We're a volunteer-led club, built by people who believe baseball should be somewhere you can learn, compete, have fun and belong.

One club.
One community.
One journey.

We thank MJ for their contribution to West City and for the time and commitment they have given to the club.

⚾ SO, WHAT IS TEEBALL?

Teeball is where young players get their first taste of baseball.

They learn to:

⚾ Hit
⚾ Throw
⚾ Catch
⚾ Field
⚾ Run the bases

But just as importantly, they learn to play with others, build confidence and have fun.

No previous baseball experience needed.

Ages 4–8.

It's not about being the best player.

It's about getting started.

THE FIRST SWING → THE NEXT STEP → THE JOURNEY CONTINUES.

⚾ LEARN. GROW. PLAY.

Baseball is more than hitting a ball.

It's learning how to throw.
Learning how to catch.
Learning when to run.
Learning how to work together.

Learning what happens when things don't go your way - and having another go.

Along the way, players build confidence, friendships, resilience and skills that go well beyond the diamond.

At West City, we're here to help every player keep moving forward.

First swing. Next level. Beyond.

That's the journey.

⚾ THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU IN BASEBALL.

Something exciting is building at West City.

Our new Division W women’s baseball team is growing quickly, with more women getting involved, getting on the field and discovering the game.

And we’re starting to see the possibility that, with enough interest, we could have two teams playing this season. 🙌

That means there’s plenty of room for more players.

Already played baseball? Come join us.

Played another sport? Come give baseball a go.

Never picked up a glove before? You’re welcome too.

Our open preseason trainings are a chance to learn the game, meet the team, build your skills and see where your baseball journey could take you.

☀️⚾ MORE DAYLIGHT. MORE BASEBALL.

Daylight Saving Time starts this Sunday — and around here, that can only mean one thing:

There’s more time to play ball. 💚

Longer evenings mean more time for:

⚾ Getting out on the diamond
🥎 Having a catch
🏃 Running the bases
🧤 Working on your fielding
🔥 Getting some extra swings in
💚 Spending time with your teammates

The baseball season is getting underway, preseason training is in full swing, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved at West City.

And if you’ve been thinking about giving baseball a go…

This is your sign.

Set your clocks forward, get outside and make the most of the extra daylight.

⚾ COACHES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Today we’re joining Sport NZ in celebrating the coaches who give their time, energy and knowledge to help young people grow through sport.

At West City, our coaches do so much more than teach baseball.

They teach players how to throw, hit, field and run — but they also help build confidence, friendships, resilience, teamwork and a sense of belonging.

They’re there for the first swing.
The first catch.
The first game.
The tough training session.
The breakthrough moment.
And all the little moments in between.

To every West City coach, past and present:

Ka nui te mihi ki a koutou. 💚
Thank you for everything you give to our players and our club.

And as we head into another season, we’re always looking for more people who want to be part of that journey.

You don't have to be an elite baseball player to make a difference. Whether you have years of coaching experience, a passion for baseball, or simply want to help the next generation get started — there's a place for you at West City.

⚾ Want to get involved? Get in touch with the club and find out how you can help coach, support or volunteer this season.

The game needs players.
The players need coaches.
The club needs people who care.

Coaches make a difference every day in the lives of young people across Aotearoa New Zealand.
This Global Coaches Day, we’re celebrating the coaches who give their time to help young people grow, connect and belong through sport.

Ka nui te mihi ki a koe. Thank you for everything you do. Tag a coach you’d like to thank today.
