Aaron “Horse” Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament
Join us on 5 September 2026
Aaron Robin Thompson 'Horse' was many things to many people. A devoted father, a loyal teammate, a trusted colleague, and a proud member of the Clarks Beach Golf Club community. Proud Ramblers Softball Club man.

Aaron passed away suddenly on 28 March 2024, far too soon. In a final act of generosity that was entirely in keeping with who he was, Aaron passed as a hero, as an organ donor.

🚨 NEW 21 & UNDER MEN'S COMPETITION! 🥎🔥

Auckland Softball is launching a brand-new 21 & Under Men's Grade 🙌, giving U17 representative players and athletes aged 17–21 a clear pathway between junior and senior softball. 💪

📅 Games will be played on Wednesday nights, with players entering a draft system to create balanced teams coached by experienced Auckland and New Zealand coaches. 🇳🇿🏆

🌟 The focus is all about player development, quality coaching, and growing the future of our game. 💙❤️ Best of all, the U17 Boys competition will continue on Friday nights as normal! 👏🥎

🚨21 & UNDER - NEW MENS COMPETITION🚨

Auckland Softball is introducing a new grade this season dedicated to the growth and development of our male athletes: the 21 & Under Grade.

Who It's For:
This grade is targeted at players spanning U17 representative level through to all players aged 17 to 21, giving developing athletes a pathway between junior and senior softball.

Registrations will be open to all U17 representative players and players aged 17–21 from all registered NFS and ASA clubs (inclusive of Counties and Franklin associations).

Format
• Runs on Wednesday nights
• Duration: a set number of weeks, determined by the number of teams registered
• All registered players will go into a draft, ensuring an even spread of talent and development across every team
• Teams will be coached by experienced coaches, including former Auckland and New Zealand coaches and players

Objective
To deliver strong growth, development, and high-quality coaching for all participants in this age group.

Our U17 Boys grade will still continue to play on Friday nights.

✨ THE MAGIC 5 – PREMIER MEN'S MANAGEMENT 2026/2027 ✨

Behind every successful team is an incredible support crew, and we're proud to introduce the Magic 5 who will help drive our Premier Men's team throughout the 2026/2027 season!💙❤️

🙌 Duncan ("Smooth")returns in a Player Manager role, working alongside Dirk. This dynamic duo brings great people skills, plenty of laughs, and a genuine passion for supporting the team. Together, they'll ensure our players are looked after both on and off the diamond—and hopefully keep each other out of trouble! 😄

🥎 Polly returns once again to support our coaching staff wherever needed. Always dependable and willing to step in, Polly's experience and team-first attitude make him an invaluable part of the management group.

📝 Our amazing Gwennie is back for another season behind the scorebook. Reliable, organised, and always keeping the game running smoothly, we're grateful to have her back doing what she does best.

💪 A special welcome to Evarn, who joins the team as our Team Trainer. Evarn will lead fitness sessions when required and help ensure our squad is physically prepared to perform at their best throughout the season.

Together, this Magic 5 completes our 2026/2027 Premier Men's Management Team. Their commitment, support, and hard work behind the scenes will be a huge part of our journey this season.

We're proud to announce our 2026/2027 Premier Men's coaching team – Isaac & Kurt!💙❤️

This season, Isaac steps into the role of Player-Coach, partnering with Kurt to form a coaching duo.

We're especially excited to welcome Kurt. As a former Premier player for our club, he knows exactly what it means to wear the AU colours with pride. Having him return to give back to the club that helped shape his journey is something we're incredibly proud of, and we couldn't be happier to have him back where he belongs. 🙌💙❤️

Together, Isaac and Kurt bring the perfect blend of leadership, experience, knowledge, and passion for the game. They're a true powerhouse partnership, committed to challenging every player, lifting standards, and creating an environment where hard work, accountability, and team-first culture are at the heart of everything they do. 💪🥎

The future is exciting with these two leading the way. We can't wait to see the impact they'll have on our players, our culture, and our club as we head into the 2026/2027 season.
