Applications are now open for two 2027 UXBRIDGE Fellowships, supporting creative practice with a meaningful connection to East Auckland.

🎨 UXBRIDGE - Creative Fellowship
For emerging artists and creative practitioners across visual and applied arts, design, performance, music, moving image and creative writing.

🏛️ UXBRIDGE - Malcolm Smith Architecture Fellowship
For early-career architects, architecture students and researchers looking to advance their practice.

Each fellowship offers $5,000 towards an original project, professional development or travel.

Things are about to get moving 🎬

MDGA Motion Club is back for 2026, bringing together a collection of short films, personal projects, experiments and wonderfully creative work from across Aotearoa’s motion community.

It’s an evening dedicated to the non-commercial side of motion design, with work from Chen Wu, Rich Nosworthy, Tom Roohan, Michael D**g, Dan McKay, Jeongmin Seo and more hitting the screen.

Design Club Studio Onfire Design has given Henderson’s a fresh new identity, repositioning the Kiwi family brand around a simple idea: Delicious starts with good.

Inspired by traditional b**r labels and mid-century butcher shop signage, the new identity celebrates simplicity done well, pairing heritage cues, tactile materials and hand-rendered details with a warm, confident and unmistakably Kiwi feel. .

The result is a modern classic that looks every bit as good as the bacon promises to taste.

Making things is one thing. Why we make them is another.

Coming to Tāmaki Makaurau this October, Platform 26: making matters brings together seven skilled New Zealand makers, each exploring what hands-on making means through their own materials, processes and perspectives.

From sustainability, light and sound to play, whakapapa and material experimentation, the exhibition invites us to look beyond the finished object and consider the how and why behind making.

Date: 10 October – 21 November 2026
Location: Depot Artspace, Devonport

A new speaker series is landing in Tāmaki Makaurau this month, bringing a little of that overseas energy back home.

The Departure Lounge, the first event from Waitematā Arts Club, invites returned globe-trotters to share an idea, experience or piece of inspiration they picked up along the way.
Part show-and-tell, part conversation, it’s a space for the internationally minded, whether you’ve just returned home, you’re dreaming of your next adventure, or you simply like looking beyond our little corner of the world.
