The Royal New Zealand RSA is calling on the Government to provide greater, sustained funding for New Zealand Defence Force remuneration, saying investment in people must keep pace with New Zealand’s defence ambitions.

Thanks for the assist!
Really appreciate you popping in to uplift and deliver the knitted gifts to Papakura, Devonport, and Whenuapai for distribution to our current serving personnel.
Please let the team know there is always a cuppa available, and we’d also like to extend an open invite to our monthly morning tea - last Thursday of the month.

A big “Thank You” to the team from Tauranga and Operation Wrapped in Remembrance for the woollen gifts.
They have been broken down into four groups and arranged to be distributed to Papakura Military Camp, Base Whenuapai, and Devonport Naval Base by the RNZRSA Hub Manager and NZDF.
A few items have been kept to be distributed to our own Returned and Service members

In Memoriam
It is with sadness that we note the passing of 1048 Kath Cain (nee Roberts) WRNZNS/RNZN who passed away peacefully on Sunday 28 June 2026.

In keeping with Kath’s wishes, she will be/has been cremated. Kath and her late husband will be interred together in the Military Section of Pukekohe Cemetery at a later date, likely September, followed by a celebration of their lives.

Our thoughts are with Kath’s family and friends at this time.

Always great to see everyone together and enjoying a good catch-up. We also took a moment to acknowledge the passing of our Vietnam Veteran, Iwimanene (Mane) Tuaiti, aged 78 - Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou.

Thank you to Sarah Laurie from St John for joining us and sharing some really valuable information on the support available in our community.

Appreciate everyone who came along and made it such a special morning.

Thank you, Manurewa!

The team from the Manurewa Veterans' Support Centre would like to thank you for your generosity during the Poppy Appeal despite these hard times, and your support at our Anzac Day services - it truly made a difference. It was awesome to see our community come together to honour our Returned and Service veterans.

A special thanks to our incredible members who volunteered to run the Poppy stands and helped setup & deliver such meaningful Anzac Day services. We simply couldn’t have done it without you.

Generally the primary focus of the dawn Anzac service is the Returned and Service veterans and their loved ones, an opportunity to reflect on those that are no longer with us.

This year was special, recently the Anzac Day Act 2026 legislation expanded the definition of service to include all modern, post-Vietnam, and future warlike operations, rather than only specific historical conflicts covered in the Anzac Day Act 1966.

Thanks to all that made the effort to share this morning with our Returned & Service veterans
