You can find practical tips on dog care, helpful dog related advice and details of our community food drops. The Saving Hope community team has been working around Auckland for over a year to help support people with education, food and dog care advice. Our goal is to improve the lives of dogs in their homes by educating about animal welfare, and promoting desexing and its benefits. We have a seri

es of dog care and information flyers available digitally (see the Dog Care Flyers Album in the Photos tab) or in hard copy at our community education and food distribution events where owners can come for advice and assistance. These cover the following subjects:

We also provide educational colouring sheets for kids which can be picked up at our events

⚡️ Storm coming this weekend please be prepared ⛈️

For those in the North Island, Tropical Cyclone Vaianu is expected to make landfall late Saturday night/Sunday morning. This has the potential to be a significant and damaging storm — but there is still time to prepare.

🐶Stock up on dog / cat food, water, and pet essentials now
🏡 Bring animals inside (house or garage) so they’re dry warm and safe
💨 Secure anything that could blow away and check fences are strong
☔️ Make sure drains are clear to help prevent flooding
⛈️ Have a lead handy for toilet breaks
🐶Keep towels ready to dry them after going outside
🦴 Keep them calm with toys, chews, or simple games
💜Create a cosy, secure space for them to settle

🐾Make sure your pet has ID — even writing your phone number on their collar can help them get home if they get displaced.
🐶Check microchip details are up to date 😊

Be prepared for possible power cuts, check in on neighbours, and make a plan for your animals.
