Lovely little Jasper has gone to Aunty Andrea Dennis-Lowther for some serious loving. Aunty A is just a special lady when it comes to our broken babies. Its always a squeal moment when she sends me the first purr video

Jasper was trapped last Sunday and when I saw the size of him it knew he was not going back to
Struggle for food. Everytime I saw his sad little face poking out from the little cocoon bed I was even more committed to get him homed.

Im praying Jasper will just blossom. Even in the week ive had him he has relaxed a little more. I can pat him
Now.
Watch this space because Jasper will
Need a home soon.

Adoption update. Bruno has been adopted. Off to a much much better life. Thank you so much Craig

Update Bruno has a meet and greet on Saturday morning. Wish him luck because he wont interview that well …bless him 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve been telling him all day he needs to put on his smile tomorrow not his hiss 🫣🫣🫣

Morning team

I’m just putting this out there.

As you all know we did a 20 cat trap and desex last Sunday and my biggest anxiety is always if we trap barely more than kittens or little Cateens.

My dilemma is I feel physically ill putting them back to where they came from because cats only go into traps if they are greedy or starving.

We trapped two such little guys and I’ve now returned all the adults as they are healed
And have feeding stations with donated food.

But I can’t bring myself to put these two back

I wonder if Am I making a rod for my own back ?
In fact I probably am …

But ……I’m going to ask The universe if there is a foster or wonderful patient loving person who could take on one of these
Little guys.

Jasper is a ginger and white 14-16 week old boy who is not vicious but terrified. I’m certain their is a beautiful little boy inside

Bruno is a handsome little ginger boy.
He is terrified of people as well but not vicious. Just needs love and patience.

Both are using litter boxes.

I thought I’ll give it a shot.

They are both still with me in Royal oak

Send me a message you have a barn situation
That could take them on in

I can set then up in
Crates until they are acclimatised with their own little house

Meet the boys

These little girls desperately need a home

Morning community

We have two stunning sisters who were living under a deck which is pretty standard for our poor community cats. Their little mum Gypsy was adopted last week and is living her best life on a lifestyle block.

Now her babies need a home.

Our incredible Laura Jane is my second special little lion tamer.
It’s a rare gift to be able to gain the trust of broken and terrified cats and kittens. Awhi Mai is blessed to have three such gems.

Stella a gorgeous tortie is now quite a confident little lass.

It took Tabitha the Tabby a lot longer than
Her sister to gain trust and confidence but Laura has taught her with such love and patience that she is safe.

Both girls are fostered in Bombay and although going together would be a dream they can
Be adopted separately.

Everytime some adopts a little homeless kitty you change their worlds forever.

Adoption fee
$200 for one
$300 for both girls.

Adoption update. These darling kittens have been adopted together.
From unsocial and terrified to loving and happy from the loving care of Andrea Dennis-Lowther

These sweet babies have a meet and greet on Saturday afternoon

Keep
All
Paws crossed 😻😻

About a month ago we trapped and desexed a number of cats living under a restaurant. To our shock 6 kittens emerged and started going into our traps.

These 6 approximately 7-8 week old kittens were hissy and extremely skittish. It took three weeks before I could change their litters boxes and food bowls without them smashing into our crates.

Eventually I could foster them out in
Pairs but only to my three special fosters who are legends with wildies.

My lion tamer Andrea Dennis-Lowther took the first two. A little tortie lady and a gorgeous ginger boy.

They hissed and spat and wouldn’t engage but in true Andrea style they were purring within days.

These two are now roughly 11/12 weeks and are the most adorable kittens.

Our little tortie Keeva is a magpie. She steals things and hides them. She loves playing soccer.
Rowan is a gentle sun-worshipper.

Keeva and Rowan must go together. They absolutely love each other.

They are both fostered in Pukekohe

Awhi Mai has had an epic week.

We are utterly blessed to have been chosen by
4Paws Pet Care Charity Clinic & Op Shop to desex, microchip , vaccinate and flea and worm 20 cats that have no home… free-of Charge” on Sunday.

We were donated a boot load of cat food, flea treatments and baby kitten formula. The sheer amount left us speechless.

This team of amazing individuals donate all their precious time to give back to the world.

When most of NZ was tucked up in a warm bed Sunday morning at 6.00am the team Pet Care were up and getting ready to head out to desex our 20 cats.

Although trapping 20 cats over two nights and setting them up in our facility at midnight was a massive task for Liz and I we knew that 20 little lives would be changed dramatically.

Homeless, undesexed cats lead horrible lives.

Males as well as females.

This exercise was a lucky save for at least two of the males. One male had a retained testicle which can lead to cancer if not removed.

Desexing males is as critical as females.

Males fight and end up with horrific life threatening abscesses. They also may have as our boy a retained testicle.

Our second little man is only 6 months old we trapped with horrific diarrhoea. We can treat him and hopefully home him.

These projects take a gigantic amount of hard work, attention to detail and organisation of many moving parts.

The volume of litter and food for 20 cats is staggering.

Holding and caring for 20 cats is not easy.

There are a gazillion litter trays to clean as we change these completely twice sometimes three times a day.

We are extremely fastidious about their welfare.

Just because they are community cats they are no different to the cat snuggled up Beside you. They are just less fortunate.

The amazing Mack Girvan one of our foster’s son offered to clean all The disgusting litter trays. How many young lads Do you know that would do this ?

See pics below of him hard at work. His one act of kindness saved me a colossal amount of time.

There gazillion bowls to clean.

Transporting 20 cats up to Silverdale takes volunteers.

Scrubbing crates and changing bedding ready for when they are finished and settling them back in.

Medicating the girls with pain relief the following day.

So we could not have done this without help from my incredible side kicks @ Sheryl Atkinson and Paula Reeves.

This charity is gold.

The team are compassionate and dedicated. This work often goes unnoticed.

Discounted Desexing

In case you weren’t aware every Tuesday this team offers discounted desexing.

Update

Middlemore Mimi is home. ❤️❤️❤️

You’ll all remember our gorgeous Middlemore Hospital mumma Mimi

While the staff at Middlemore were simply amazing and offered to feed her it still made me sad she would be wandering the grounds of Middlemore Hospital belonging nowhere to no one.

I’d had a wonderful offer for her to be a barn cat but this still meant another three weeks of crating which just killed ne.

My heart was filled with utter joy when Sue Vlug
Messaged me and Offered up her sunroom on her Waiuku farm property.

Sue and her son scrubbed and set up Mimi’s Palace so she no longer needed to Be crate confined while decompressing.

The sunroom has huge windows for her to Look out of. She has everything she could possibly need. It has a cat tower.

I drove Mimi out this morning. I liked Sue immediately. A kind and compassionate person. I believe Mimi felt the same vibe because As soon as I opened the carrier Mimi strolled out and sat in a loaf position under a chair.
Sue does spinning of wool so will sit with her during the day while she spins.

Mimi will be loved and safe and warm now.

Thank you Sue from the bottom of my heart
