Each term, our neighbours at The Gardens School have a 'coin and can' m***i day. They donate the coins to Tōtara Hospice and the cans go into the Pataka (the wooden box in front of the school) for our community food bank.

We had Aroha and Kyros drop off an incredible $634.50 they raised for us. This is care powered by community, and we are so grateful for their kindness and mahi 🌴

During one of her regular Hospice visits, Florence was in obvious distress, rating her pain as a nine out of ten.

Her nurse acted quickly to get her the care she needed.

By the next day, Florence was sitting up and talking, with her pain beginning to ease.

Moments like these are made possible through Hospice care.

This week we’re celebrating some amazing community kindness 💛

- It’s never the wrong time to spring clean! Thanks to BNI East Auckland, Auckland, NZ we rolled along to their Thursday morning meeting and collected items to sell in our Hospice Shops. They also donated $400 from small collections over a few months, we are super grateful!

- The Fiji Girmit Foundation NZ फिजी गिरमिट फौंडेशन न्यू ज़ीलैण्ड celebrated Women's Day with a lovely afternoon tea, and a wonderful $1,000 donation. We really appreciate your support, and love a novelty cheque! 🎂

- Highbrook Rotary's Annual Fun Run & Walk in March raised an incredible $4,000 for Tōtara Hospice. The event was a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. Thank you to the Rotary team, the 480 participants, and the volunteers who helped make the day such a success 🏃‍♀️

- And a shoutout to essano for their donation of some lovely candles, these were used at our Remembrance Service to honour loved ones 🕯
