Te Wharekura o Waitangi ō Hinemuri is a co-educational, composite kura (Years 1–13) situated at the Waihi Community Marae in Waihi. As a designated character school and kura-ā-iwi, it provides education steeped in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori.

Having just launched in 2025, they have very little to support their community. It was an absolute privilege to provide a little, helping more young tamariki participate in sports through sports clothing, shoes, and equipment.

One of the Athletes for Nature Action Steps is to Revive Sports Gear - giving your sports gear a second chance to give someone else their first chance. This gives sports gear a new lease of life rather than sending it to landfill.

Sports Gear Revived helps people participate more in sports, enjoy the associated health and social benefits, spend time in nature, and build better environmental awareness.

Thank you to Sport Waikato for connecting us with the school, and to all of our individual contributors, affiliates, and Macpac.

Situated on the Hauraki Plains between Thames and Ngātea, Kopuarahi School has an enrollment of just 8 students, predominantly from transient families and from lower socio-economic communities

Small, isolated schools like this receive very little funding and support. It is always a pleasure to support these schools by helping more young tamariki participate in sports through sports clothing, shoes, and equipment.

Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua:
‘I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on my past’

“A kōrero recently shared with me about this whakatauki was that we look back into the faces of our tūpuna to guide us through the present and future. There are no future facts, these are yet to be embodied experiences for our tamariki and us.” Whaea Barbara Hetaraka

Providing young tamariki with the ‘tools’ to participate in sports through sports clothing, shoes, and equipment enables them to grow and become future leaders.

Te Awamutu Sports Junior Cricket Club receiving a big haul of cricket gear for the second time in four years, supporting their development programme.

Our main focus is to support schools, but these community programmes are just as important, and we are honoured to be able to do so.

Located in the heart of King Country, most people won’t have even heard of Benneydale/Maniaiti.
What was once a thriving community off the back of a coal mine and numerous mills, now has a population of just over 200 people.
With a peak enrollment of over 600 students, Benneydale is now a small rural primary school for 30 to 40 students.

Small, isolated schools like this receive very little funding and support. It is always a pleasure to support these schools by helping more young tamariki participate in sports through sports clothing, shoes, and equipment.
