This years Xmas function was held at the Holiday Inn, a return to the venue of our successful convention.

It was a good night for socialising, feasting and hydrating beside the pool in the late afternoon/early evening summer sun.

It was also great to see some club members from further away joining us on this festive occasion.

Great display of cars at this years open day. The BBQ was humming, the sun was out and good to see so many visitors

Each year in early January a couple of club members go for a day trip across to to the Keltic Fair in Coromandel town.

It’s a huge affair with about 400 general stalls & food caravans, music on the stage and kids fun fair, running from 9am to 4pm.

They normally leave Auckland about 8 - 8.30ish and cruise down to Thames (about 1.5 hours drive) for a morning tea stop. Afterwards driving along the amazing Thames Coast road and over the hills to Coromandel township (about 1 hour) to arrive at the fair around late morning.

Parking is not normally a problem, with the local Lions Club marshalling cars for a small donation and within walking distance of the fair.

After the fair its heading back for some dinner in Thames before making their way home.

So if your are interested in joining them for a nice day out, put this on your calendar. For more details phone Jan on 09 5768330 or 0211166301

While the club didn't have a formal presence at this event it was great to see Jan and Grant enjoying the line dancing demonstration and also a beautiful Mark One complete with continental kit and towing cute wee caravan behind.

Well what a convention that was!

While not being able to attend my self I'm told the Nog and Natter on Friday evening was a good opportunity for catchup and putting faces to names and judging by the reported smiles and laughter this seemed to be a great success.

Graeme White (Enford & Sponsor) addressed the attendees and outlined where he saw Enford moving to in the future. We wish Graeme and Rosemary all the best for future and thank them for all their assistance!

The Show and Shine saw some exceptional vehicles on display as evidenced by the photos. With the event advertised in Petrolhead magazine and also on NewstalkZB it attracted quite a bit of attention from the genera publicl, despite the predicted ominous weather.

Saturday afternoon provided the opportunity for visiting clubs along with Graeme White and our Guest for the convention, Garry Jackson President of NZFOMC to visit our parts depot which is a large part of the ACZZC operations.

We also had Phil Prior (Basis) one of our sponsors on site with a sample of products and information on his business.

Saturday evening saw everyone being catered with the first of the banquet meals prepared by Holiday Inn followed by a First Class presentation by Garry Jackson.

You should read Gary's BIO which exhibits his love of cars, his wealth of knowledge of the industry and also understanding of how government departments view the classic car industry.

Check out NZFOMC website for background information of their work and that of its members.

There was some trepidation prior to Sunday’s run to Kaiaua given the weather of the previous night, but again the weather gods smiled on us and we enjoyed lunch at the garden bar at the Bayview Hotel, Kaiaua.

The delegates meeting was held on Sunday afternoon and minutes will be sent to clubs directly

Sunday's finale was another superb banquet followed by the prizegiving of trophy winners.
Award winners were selected by the registered attendees of the convention with judging being incredibly close.

Congratulations to all winners and the coverted Car of Convention. Warwick and Katie Rhodes. A magnificent Original Mk3 Zodiac with just over a genuine 10,000 miles

Hoteliers choice which came with a generous host package went to John Reeves, Mk1 convertible.

All in all a great event for those that attended.

Closing Date for International Convention Registrations

For those interested in attending this years International Convention over Easter registrations will be closing next Wednesday (March 12th).

This promises to be a great event with a Show and Shine at the Holiday Inn, a visit to the ACZZC's Parts Depot to see if you can purchase those hard to find components for your cars, a great guest speaker from an industry leader and an interesting run to a beautiful part of Auckland's coastline.

In addition Basis will have a display at the Club Parts depot on the Saturday and there will be plenty of time for attendees to visit Mānawa Bay, NZ's newest premium outlet shopping destination.

If you are thinking of attending this Easter, don't delay and risk of missing out.

Any questions please message and we look forward to seeing you there.
