DISCERNING SUBTLE FALSEHOOD.

Little Francis was watching a Christian show when he began a conversation about the prodigal son, insisting the Bible called him Reuben. He kept adding extra details to the story, for example, saying “Reuben had a teddy bear and robot toy he took with him to the city”. He was sincere but misguided.
We had to switch off the show and guide him to the Bible. There, he saw clearly that no names were mentioned.

In these last days, Scripture warns that it will become increasingly difficult to discern sound teaching because people will prefer messages that flatter their desires, tingle their ears and make them feel good.

False teachings are subtle and not easily recognized. One can easily mistake them for the real message until you look closely. That’s why we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern truth from error and run away from anything that is false.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron…” (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

SAVED BY HIS VOICE.

It was a windy night. George arrived at work and parked his car near a tree.
“Don’t park here tonight”, he heard a soft whisper. He hesitated, but the whisper grew louder. He recognized that voice and smiled. He moved his car to a different location, away from the trees.

Hours later, George watched through the office we**am as a large branch broke off the tree and crashed exactly where his car would have been.

“How did you know it was His voice?”, asked Roland, a co-worker, when George shared the experience.
“I know His voice. He was the One who told me to check the locker room again before leaving that night”, George replied.
Roland remembered that night. George’s obedience had saved the company thousands of dollars.

The gift, presence and leading of the Holy Spirit is for us and for others too. When we listen and yield to His instructions, we can save ourselves and others from trouble.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

WELCOME TO A FRESH START!

Clara let out a loud yawn as she rolled out of bed. It was the dawn of a new day, a new year!
After a near-death experience and financial struggles, she thought she wouldn’t see the new year. But here she was!

“Thank you, Jesus,” she whispered, reaching for her Bible and gratitude journal.

Whatever challenges you faced last year, they are now behind you. This is a new dawn, a fresh start.

Let’s look forward with grateful hearts for all God has done and all He will do.
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever (Psalm 118:1).
