Our first workshop with children interested in becoming part of the Core Council for iM:PACT – Innovations for the Mediterranean, a new project we're proud to be involved in. 🌟

Through engaging discussions, the children explored the elements that shape our Mediterranean identity, including family dynamics, food, culture, language, and traditions. It was inspiring to hear the children's perspectives and begin this journey of discovery and shared identity together! 🇲🇹🌍

I was delighted to meet Shaun James Micallef Vassallo this morning and to learn more about his new book, Maltese Animals: A Wildlife Colouring Book 🦔

Aimed at children aged 5 to 10, this bilingual publication beautifully combines education and creativity, encouraging young readers to discover the rich biodiversity found across our islands!

Continuing to promote online protection! 💻🛡️

Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca visited St. Patrick’s Salesian School to have a discussion on online safety, digital responsibility, and ways for students to protect themselves in the digital world. As part of the session, we also distributed our flashcards for students, teachers and guardians.

🛡️ Our team recently delivered an interactive session on Online Communication for the Paola–Tarxien Division of the St John Cadets.

The workshop focused on online safety: identifying risks, responsible reporting, and the challenges of communicating behind a screen. The young participants shared great ideas on how to stay safe online and contributed to a lively discussion on digital communication. 💬

This session forms part of the POP-up Project, an MFWS initiative dedicated to promoting child online protection through research, awareness, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders. 🌐

“The wellbeing of our children and young people is not and should never be treated as a secondary issue. It is not an optional social concern, but a national priority.”

The Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society (MFWS) Founder and Chair, HE Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, spoke yesterday at the Richmond Foundation - Malta Conference; ‘Strengthening Youth Mental Health in Malta’.

She also highlighted how the MFWS Children’s Local Councils, in their Children’s Manifesto, launched earlier this month, appealed for better mental health support for children and young people.

Additionally, in the conference, Prof Marie Briguglio spoke about the cost of inaction, and presented findings from the Wellbeing INDEX, a collaborative project between the University of Malta and the MFWS, which is paving the way for the measurement of wellbeing in Malta.
