Every life has value. 💙💛

As a Down syndrome community, we respect that every family faces difficult and personal decisions. However, we believe that a diagnosis of Down syndrome should never define a child’s worth.

People with Down syndrome bring love, joy, friendship, determination, and countless achievements to our families and communities every day. Their lives matter, their voices matter, and they deserve the same chance to live, grow, dream, and belong as anyone else.

A diagnosis is not the end of a story—it is the beginning of a unique and beautiful journey.

💙💛

The complaint was lodged by the mother of a fifteen-year-old boy attending his final year at Guardian Angel Secondary School. The complainant sought information from the Education Authorities regarding her son’s transition to the Dun Manwel Attard School in Wardija.

She was informed that the only option available was a privately run programme known as Life Map. The complainant expressed concern that the Wardija School was no longer accepting new students and that no intake was envisaged for the following scholastic year. She also questioned the structure of the new programme, including concerns regarding staffing, regulation, and its suitability for her son’s educational needs.

The complainant maintained that her son had never exhibited disruptive behaviour and argued that the largely therapeutic nature of the proposed programme would negatively affect his continuing education.

✨ WHO AM I? ✨

This week our youths explored *“Who Am I?”* a project part of It’s a Match project Inclution - inclusive solutions funded by Erasmus+ through a fun and interactive session focused on identity, strengths, rights, and dreams for the future. ❤️

Using creative hand activities, discussions, and teamwork, participants discovered what makes each person unique while learning an important message:
⭐ Everyone has strengths
⭐ Everyone has rights
⭐ Everyone can learn
⭐ Everyone can work
⭐ Everyone belongs

The group shared hobbies, talents, dream jobs, and the people who support them, creating a beautiful reminder that we are all different, but equally valuable.

We also started practising interview skills by introducing ourselves, answering simple questions, and building confidence in speaking about our strengths and interests. 🎤💼

This is only the beginning — over the coming weeks we will continue developing these skills, exploring work readiness, communication, self-confidence, and preparing for future opportunities together.
